There's a difference between QQ, and providing constructive criticism about WHY something is broke.. QQ doesn't get anything changed...

Yes but one person's "constructive criticism" IS another's QQ.
The whole time there was an uproar about p2w there were choice people screaming how the people QQing should wait till consumables were in game and thats just not a good idea

I'd disagree with that... a lot of the rage posts were pure QQ.. stuff like "This sucks, I quit". "PAy2Win!!!!", etc..

There were some good posts (quite a few actually), that explained why P2W was a concern (the 'extra' module slot for someone paying with MC, for example). Those type of posts are what the community guys look for when diving through the 5 million "I quit, you suck" posts.. and have a much heavier impact with the dev team.

Yeah but perception is reality on forums so to those of us that see it it looks like ALL the threads, especially the volume of the threads (the amount not the sound) that looks like its doing more good than anything so the next time it comes around you have 10x the qq

kind of my point

And that's why I have nothing but respect for the Community folks at IGP/PGI and other games... the amount of stuff they have to sift through (they read pretty much every thread that gets posted) to get the few nuggets of actual feedback, is amazing.

That´s why you don´t buy the Lollipop no matter how hard Mr. 3-year-old shouts and cries and rolls on the floor.

If you give in once you are in for a hell of a ride.

I've always found it helpful to point and laugh when my kids throw a temper tantrum like that.. The wife likes to threaten to video tape it, and show it to their friends.

Either way, it stops the tantrum, and doesn't give in.

Despite what "perception" might be, Devs don't make their decisions based on who posts more often, or uses the most caps in their post. They look at the feedback provided in those posts, and take that (along with their own metrics, etc..etc..) into account.

You want your 'voice' to be heard? Make your criticism constructive, don't throw a tantrum screaming 'no no no no!'.

This cuts both ways. It's why you don't say "Oh. Well, I guess I'll just have to live with this new pay cut."

Anyway, coolant was obviously broken in a P2W sense. I have a lot more tolerance for unbalanced game mechanics (these can be fixed to the benefit of everyone down the road) than I do for P2W (someone's gain is someone's loss, and you have to be firm on where your sticking point is).

It quadrupled the price of the coolants, that ain't cool. I actually preferred the idea of C-bills and MC offering side-grades (like the Hero Mechs) and costing me less space-gold.

So the OPs premise is throw tantrums and act like spoiled children to get what you want. Seems like people have been doing that all along.

I'm glad my rage post against IGP resulted in something positive after calling them out for being a bunch of greedy jackasses.

Smugness aside;

This is the reason its a Beta
Things can change. You dont wait until they are in the game to voice your feelings, by then its too late.
Look at ECM and the lack of response to how the players think its too powerful

Working as intended. There is nothing wrong with ECM there are 3 ways to counter it. At this point its a Learn to play issue.

While I tend to see eye to eye with you...

QQ as a term is crying about something typically without reason.

The Consumable thing was not a QQ although a good many posters approached QQing. There were some very good reasons for not implementing it in the manner they had suggested. Yeah, some people threw their hands to their head and started yanking on their hair while grinding their teeth and starting the waterfalls.... but I would say most of those were ignored for not having anything of substance in them.

There were a great number of well written posts mixed in with all the whining and you can not say that it was the whining alone that accomplished something.
