I just started using this C1 build and instantly fell in love with it. It has a great amount of firepower for its speed as well as great heat capacity. Its rather basic but in my experience very effective.

CPLT-C1

XL 310 Engine (77.3 max speed)
18 DHS
1 ton Jump Jet
Endo Steel Structure

3x LL
2x SRM6 (2 tons ammo)

Its one of those builds that just comes out perfectly tonnage and critical slot wise. Not a single slot left. Greatly satisfies the OCD side of me :P

I strongly recommend trying this build if you can afford the engine.

ALSO make sure you keep the weapon doors OPEN so the srms don't have a gawd awful delay on them.

It hurts me deeply whenever I see people using this fine midfield-LRM machine for brawling.

i like to be in the fight. i do also have a hunch back. i know that a cat is meant for long range. the only problem i have is it gets centered easy

IMO better with the same frame of mind.

It hurts me deeply when I see people underestimating the power of jump jets.

It doesn't hurt me at all whenever I see people taking a mech with a huge expanse of glass for a cockpit window into a brawl. In other words, Catapult pilots, be they firing LRMs or SRMs, need to limit their 'face time' with other mechs, lest they find themselves in little pieces when their overly large cockpit glass gets blown out.

I've spent a long time running a similar brawler - it can be effective, lots of fun, obv it isn't the ideal chassis for a brawl but that is part of the appeal

I strongly suggest running a standard 300 engine vs the xl - you have big side torsos. drop 1 LL for 2 mediums - runs cooler, does more damage at the slight expense of range. endo lets you fit 2xsrm6, 2LL, 2 ML, 300std, 2JJ.
