Actually, nope, not why I came here. But, I had a full bead on the guy and as the salvos were midway in the air, there go two SRM using buddies. Oops. Rain drops kind of fell hard on their heads.

I've done this; I play a ALRM40 with TAG awesome, and had the guy in LOS, tagged, and a cicada and a commando ran in front of my missiles; I even de-tagged and pulled the lock, but it killed them anyways. How is it my fault if I'm doing everything I can to be accurate, and they step into my LOF? Stop being so smug and don't face-hug.

I'm sure Artillery and Air Strikes can make it worse. If they don't react to it.

Learn to keep a respectful distance from your targets or you will spend a lot of time as a stationary target when you fall over...

But why were you firing on a target that was already covered by 2 other mechs when they were at risk of taking friendly fire? Why keep blasting away for any reason other than your own selfish desire?
I HATE bad LRM users that lack the skill to effectively select and/or change targets. Trapped by tunnel vision and a chase the rabbit mentality I've seen so many, too many, LRM users waste ammo on shots at targets in the back of a pack, thinking they can cut through a gauntlet of AMS fire. Fire on targets in cover and seeing the reticule go red and thinking they are doing effective damage while ignoring the target status display that shows maybe 2 of 40 missiles actually hit. Or worst of all the ones that ignore a TAGed target because they really really want to kill that one mech off to the side of the map currently contributing in no way to the fight going on .
They played poorly. But You did no better.

As well, you won't get hit by the incoming LRMs unless you stand right beside the targeted mech and right where the salvo is coming from.

I take it you were there so you know how this particular incident went down? If not, you sound more like an LRM hater than a knowledgeable player. I have seen many lights who for some unknown reason (lack of knock down) seem to enjoy humping the leg of some enemy. If the LRM shooter was 700 meters away, the two lights could have easily closed in on a mech in that amount of time to shoot at it with their streaks or SRMs. I often pilot a light (Commando 1D is my favorite right now) and I make sure to maintain a solid distance from my enemies so my LRM allies can remain effective. Situational awareness is key, but I can't blame the LRM boat for hitting me if I'm humping the leg of the Fatlas I'm trying to kill.
Moral of the story: Do not hump the legs of your opponents or the friendly LRM pilot will melt you to slag as well.
