I've been playing a LRM20 boat A1 Catapult tonight pretty successfully (in spite of facing ECM in plague-like proportions), averaging at least 300-400 damage each round, but I'm getting 5-6 assists each round and very few kills. Maybe 1 kill every second round.

Anyone got any tips for converting this into kills?

Use Direct fire instead of LRM as your primary damage dealer

If you read, he's on an A1. No energy hardpoints.

Supplementing the LRM 20s with LRM-5s will help as well. 5's shoot off faster, and thus you can deal damage between LRM-20 salvos. Also you may considering LRM-15s instead of 20s. They fire slightly faster, and weigh less. I do agree with the Artemis statement, which dropping the 20s to 15s will make Artemis more manageable possible.

Lately I've been dropping 3 and 4* LRM-15 builds in favor of lots of LRM-5s because of how much faster they fire. I'll get 2 LRM-5's off in the time to fire LRM-15's. I'll get 3 off in the time it takes to fire LRM-20s. They pay off when supplementing your bigger launchers with them. They also do bits of damage in between the big hits, helping to ensure you'll get the kill before the guy in the field gets the finishing blow.
