Believe it or not, this really is a serious suggestion. Remove all mechs 35 tons or lighter from the game.

I seriously believe that this would VASTLY improve gameplay.

Packs of light mechs that can't be hurt are ruining this game.

How would it improve gameplay? No sure if serious? Troll post?
Next you would want to remove all mechs faster than 90km/hr or something. You must be a 48km/hr Atlas pilot who isolates himself from his team and is surrounded by "packs" of light mechs and dies. if indeed this is a serious thread.
Lights are harder to hit due to their overall size, their speed, and admittedly netcode (but it is vastly improved from where it was previously). If you can't even hurt a light mech though you need to learn to aim - go training grounds for a bit until you can do so.

Actually I have mechs of every weight category and speed. My fastest mech (Raven) is 151 kph, my slowest Atlas is 59 kph. I am quite serious about removing light mechs. I own an Altas, Awesome, Stalker, Catapult, Cataphract, Centurion, Commando, and Raven (and those are just the ones that I've kept). All are completely unlocked / advanced to Master level.

Even with the improvements to the netcode and "state rewind", many light mechs aren't taking anywhere near the damage that they should be taking. I can't count how many times I've seen them take dual AC20 hits and walk away as if they merely stubbed their toe. In another thread I detail how a damaged Spider took out my fully armored Stalker, even though I outgunned and out-armored him about 4 to one. EACH of my hits should have been enough to annihilate that mech, yet it not only lived (repeatedly), but eventually killed the Stalker (from the front). 20 pts of damage per volley into a mech that doesn't even have that much armor, should have killed it.

Packs of light mechs are ruining this game. You can't hurt them (and yes I pilot them too so I know this issue from both sides). My light mechs fell like I'm playing on god-mode. If I'm in my Raven or Commando and I see 2 enemy Atlas, I think "cool, I'm about to get 2 kills".

Host state rewind currently only affects hit-scan weapons (lasers, mg, flamer) but neither ballistics nor missiles.

That is, (if that's true, ) there's a bug with hit detection. Looks to me like: fix the bug.

I'd agree that packs of light mechs on one side vs. few light mechs on the other side can be very nasty. ECM+streaks is another issue, as well as IMHO the LT/RT hitboxes of a raven. Lots of light mechs attack an isolated assault? Change your tactic and stick to the team. If they focus fire, you should focus fire with your team mates as well.
The lights appear suddenly and surround you? Again, most probably ECM / friendly scouts fail (or an issue with enemy position sharing; currently only the position of a targeted mech is shared).

From the perspective of a light, you can (IMHO should) 1) scout/spot 2) attack isolated mechs 3) support heavier mechs e.g. by attacking the rear torso of an enemy.

COM-2D and RVN-3L can be equipped to cheese builds, would you also say the other COMs and RVNs are that nasty? What's about spiders?
