So sometime this year the clans will appear. These mechs are omnimechs which can essentailly equip whatever they want, wherever they want. There are already problems with mechs boating weapons, but the clans will bring this to a whole new level UNLESS...

...give the clan mechs normal hardpoints like the Inner Sphere mechs, BUT also give them 1 or 2 (depending on size) omni-points to be used however the player would like. This will still give players the omni advantage of clan mechs, while also help show some form of balance when clans arrive. Yes I know the clans were supposed to be better in absolutely every way, but that will not work for this game.

This will also give people a reason to buy more than 1 chassis of a clan mech besides the ability to get elite and master for that mech. It also opens up the door for hero clan mechs.

This is just a thought and would like to see some other opinions and suggestions for how to implement clan mechs.

Hmm. In the MW4 days I know there were players (hey, we all did it) that would create ridiculous builds where Omnimechs were armed to the teeth with just about every hardpoint filled with a weapon... but there was a payoff, namely armor was sacrificed to allow the weight of 6 PPCs (for eg) and there wasn't enough space left for enough heatsinks to manage the ridiculous amount of weaponry.

There was one build I can remember that was chock a block full of ACs (to the point of one shot kills), but the pilot had to use a tiny engine. Deadly if it saw you, but slow as a sloth and nothing getting behind it couldn't solve.
