Ok, so here's what happened. I'm on alpine peaks, in cover, peeking out a a clearing that has intermittent radar contacts nearby. I look around a few times for enemy contacts, since its a pretty fair piece of real estate to cross from one piece of cover to the next. LoS scan picks up nothing so I made a break for it. Halfway across, in the middle of an open field, 5 mechs suddenly render, ALSO in the open, but well within visual range (couldn't have been more than 1K or 1.5K meters out) and I start getting hammered. (I'm assuming that I didn't render in the open for them either until almost the same time, because I was in the open crossing the field and didn't start taking fire until they popped for me too.

Now I don't mind when I screw up, get out of position and get hammered for it. That's my fault. But its tough enough to cross some of those vast expanses without not being able to see mechs that I should have line of sight on. Likewise for my opponent. If it had been the other way around, one baddie would have suddenly found himself popped into an open field with 5 mechs in no cover getting hammered by LRM fire. Not good.

If those guys had been able to see me, they wouldnt have wandered out into the open. Likewise, neither would I.

I haven't changed any video settings or anything. Anyone else run into this?

Bug it's been fixed and will be making its way out soon, I'm working on this and some other related stuff so expect a command chair post soon to address this and some other issues that will become clear shortly.
