Hello all,
I'd like to make some quick recommendations regarding both the Mech Bay (I hear there are some fixes in the works) and the new Player Stats. I hope these suggestions are useful to you:
Mech Bay
- Allow Mech Sorting in a number of ways. By weight, alphabetically or speed seem like great starting points. Allowing a user to filter out Mechs based on criteria is even better. "Only show me 40-50 ton mechs with ballistic hardpoints" would be an ideal end scenario.
- Allow the creation of categories of mechs in the "Mech Inventory" area. Custom tags would be great for this, much akin to creating a song playlist.
- Be able to strip a mech's equipment more easily. Oftentimes I am experimental with mechs, and it would be nice to be able to strip a mech quickly then rebuild it.
- Be able to save Mech configurations, just in case I hate my new design.
Stats
- Add a great deal of information for a stat junkie like myself. Things like, "Average Damage per Hit" would be great. I would love to know how much average damage I actually do with a Small Pulse laser, for example.
- Allow a mech breakdown, showing each individual mech's accuracy with certain weapons. I would bet my Yen Lo Wang has a higher hit percentage with it's AC/20 than my Atlas does, just due to being able to more easily aim an arm weapon.
- Have charts indicating your average damage at various ranges. At 120 meters, what's my average damage for an SRM shot? I would love to know something like this.
- Have more stats about what kills you, and at what range. A paper doll of your mech with hit information along with timestamps of the hit would be freaking incredible.
- Show average damage done per mech, along with average XP and CBills earned. It would be interesting to see which of my mechs is the most profiable.
I hope these suggestions are useful to you, and I wish you all the best!

Another (fairly major) idea, though I grant this is hard to implement.
While reported weapon damage is great and all, it would be nice to see an average of all player's accuracy with a certain weapon. I'd like to know where on the bell curve I am for my shot accuracy with, say, an AC/2.
Also showing how far away an average player actually fires a weapon would be interesting. This would likely also assist with tweaking balance between different bits of equipment, much akin to how a heat map is useful in balancing maps.
Take care all,
- Chris
