I just installed Mechwarrior Online and all the patches and everything is fine. I'm new to the series but I have played Mechassault long ago so I'm not TOO new with the whole "Mech" thing. Anyway, when I click "Play", I get the following message:

Unsupported Video Card Detected! Continuing to run may lead to unexpected results and crashes. Please check the manual for further information on hardware requirements.

"Intel® G33/G31 Express Chipset Family" [vendor id = 0x8086, device id = 0x29c2]

My specs are the following:

Op System: Win 7 Ultimate 32-bit
Processor: Intel® Pentium® Dual CPU E2180 @ 2.00 GHz (2 CPUs), ~2.0GHz
Memory: 2048 MB RAM
DirectX Version: DirectX 11
Video Card: Intel® G33/G31 Express Chipset Family

Can someone please tell me what the problem is and how to fix it? I'd appreciate any help as I'd like to get started with playing Mechwarrior Online!

What does "integrated" mean? And what would I have to do to fix this because my game won't even start up? Would I have to purchase a video card?

Lol mechassault.

edit: but in all seriousness, you need a better computer to run this game.

Your computer won't be able to run the game, your specs are WAY below the minimum system requirements (which is required to barely run the game anyway)

"Integrated" video cards are integrated directly into the motherboard. IE, you don't actually have a video card except for the factory stock bare-minimum needed to run video display.

Generally integrated video cards are complete crap. Sadly the only way to fix this is to get a new computer.

Good. 64-bit would be preferred, but isn't required.

Oof, this thing is very low-end. MWO has trouble running on a dual-core as is. You'll be wanting an decent i5 or i7 processor if going for intel. Quad-core would be best.

Memory: 2048 MB RAM

2 Gigs really isn't good enough for gaming anymore. I'd suggest 8 gigs.....but considering how cheap RAM is, I'd just shell out the extra bit of cash for 16 just to ensure that you won't have to upgrade anytime soon.

Utter crap.....sorry.....there's really no better way to say it, I might as well be honest.

I'd really suggest buying the parts to build your own gaming rig. Pre-bought ones generally are over-priced, have low-quality parts, and have a bunch of unneeded crap that bog it down.

A ton of us here have built computers and it's actually very easy to do (Newegg has a great 3-part tutorial on how to build a computer that has pretty much everything you need to know about building a computer). Just ask us for help here on what parts you'd need to buy based on your budget.

Sorry to be so blunt......but your current system is utter crap for gaming of any kind.....like I said, I just have to be honest about it.

Your computer is way below the minimum requirements for the game.

Always check Min-spec requirements before getting a game..

Quote

MechWarrior Online Minimum System Spec:

CPU:
Core 2 Duo E6750 2.66GHz
Athlon II X2 245e
GPU:
GeForce 8800GT
Radeon HD 5600/5700
RAM: 4 GB
OS: Windows Vista 32-bit
DirectX: DX9
HDD Space: 4 GB
MechWarrior Online Recommended System Spec:

CPU: Core i3-2500 AMD Athlon II X4 650
GPU: GeForce GTX 285 Radeon HD 5830
RAM: 8 GB OS: Windows 7 SP-1 64-Bit
DirectX: DX9
HDD Space: 4 GB

ref

Your going to have to upgrade sorry, but when you do go a little bit over the reccomended spec to length the time your get outta you new rig before having to upgrade again.

Better yet buy in parts and teach yourself to put it together, that way you can just upgrade components as required.

Feel free to drop me a PM on building a new computer and parts required. I built a new rig a few months ago for this game (among others).

I found this site to be very useful:
http://www.game-deba...temRequirements

Basically, you enter your specs and it tells you if it will work. The caveat is that it assumes that you have selected mid to high settings. If your specs are marginal, turning down the quality in the options menu can help. The big problem with integrated video cards (a chipset mounted to the computer's motherboard) is that they use the computer's main memory. Not only is main memory shared with the CPU, but it is slower than memory mounted on a video card. My setup originally could not run MWO at all, then I turned down the settings and it ran as a slideshow. I spent $90 on a new video card (a Radeon HD6750), and have been racking up the deaths (plus the odd kill), ever since, despite my Athlon II X2 220 dual core processor not being quite up to the task. Before you plunk down money on a video card, make sure that it will fit in your computer's case. The size of my emachines EL1358's case limited me to low-profile cards.

I have to disagree with some posts here, I think and have said before the Minimum specs are overrated. Here's what I am using:

Vista 32 bit
Intel C2D 2200
2 GB RAM
GeForce 8500

Similar processor, don't know how his video compares but I run on Low graphics and am good. Only thing causing me problems is my wireless depending on the mood it is in, if it stinks (I check online through my browser) I don't play.

First I would recommend getting a video card that is within the requirements and your current computer can handle, this would allow you to play now and switch the card to a newer computer at a later date. Then plan for a new system, remember to bring over the video card.

Make sure you have a good Internet connection.

Unless this is on a laptop, that is a whole different thing.

@Merchant, your graphic card is far better than this on chip solution that the OP uses. An Intel G31/33 is an integrated as others say and can be good used for ebay aso, but not for any kind of gaming.

And regarding the HD6950, have u used the latest catalyst drivers ?

@Crashingmail, correct. I am just pointing out he has a second option to building a whole new system now that costs money we don't know if he has. Just buy a better video card and use it for now plus it could be added to a future new rig.

craptop with integrated video card is not likely to have the ability to slot in anything else....

Sorry to say it, zergslayer, but both your CPU and Graphics Card (technically you don't even have a graphics card, it's just an integrated graphics chip) are complete garbage.

I'm surprised that SC2 even works well at all.

You're going to have to have to get a new computer if you want any improvement.
