Which begs me to ask, have these people never heard of Polarized Glass!? If not that then what about Photogray!? Most office buildings use a low grade form of Polarized glass for their windows, lets light in but not the glare. This leads to even the basic Tinted Windows, which would be the reason why you need to use nightvision or thermal to see in the dark since you couldn't see just by looking out the Tinted Windows.

Module idea, would be interesting.

The flash blinding is a program glitch with the shader.. they are working on tweeking it.

You need to make it part of your strategy by blindly firing about the battlefield like a blindfolded Vietnam vet with heavy artillery at his disposal.

The current crop of pilots have the battle awareness of pond scum and will run right through your line of fire and if they are sufficently damaged, result in a team kill, by stupidity.

As far as the blurring goes, that's a CryEngine 3 problem which is a broken simulation of how your eyes respond to seeing something too bright and then normal again... why we can' turn it off is a bit beyond me, but hey.

Slightly different from polarizing. The gold astronauts use is actually to filter radiation and the welding helmets filter UV. Polarization is there to cut glare caused by light at angles your eyes are not able to detect well.

Sighs.. this is taken from nasa's web site = The visor is coated with a thin layer of gold that filters out the sun's harmful rays. This is taken from a Welding manufactures web site of gold coated lenses
"Weld-Cool” polycarbonate filter plates are made of a proprietary polycarbonate formula and coated with 24-karat gold. Together, these technologies reflect/absorb ultraviolet, visible, and infrared radiation to protect the welder’s eyes and allow the welder to“see the weld pool”better by reducing“sodium flare”. The welder is cooler and more comfortable, and the quality of the weld can be significantly improved ."
The technology was borrowed from Nasa, and in both instances a 24k gold film was placed to prevent harmfull rays from frying your eyes.. The Cheaper trailer park version of this is Polarized lenses which only block out.. UV light light.. Soo would you rather pilot a mech in outer space in places where there is all sorts of comic radiation with, A UV filter that lets in HARMFULL RADIATION, Or a 24k Gold lens which will block out HARMFULL RADIATION??? Which goes back to my original comment, the Cockpits on the mechs are GOLD PLATED ..whatevers.. which is better than polarized Lenses..Please, also note the gold film blocks out allot of color spectrum that keep an image from being its untrue color. It also blocks out the HEAT caused by the plasma stream created while welding. So next time you are thinking of staring at a pool of molten metal caused by a plasma stream, and wondering if your OAKLEYS are going to save you... Remeber this post..
And if your wondering how this applies to the Colors, heats, and molten metal caused by the Plasma streams of LASERS being fired at you, I have no good answer for you..
