Now, granted, they did mention "new game modes."

But they pretty much said they won't be adding what we would like to see them add anytime soon - actual objective-based, assymetrical, "mission oriented" game modes.

We've supplied them a hundred ideas of how to make such game modes work for PVP, not that I'm so awesome that my ideas can't be flawed.

This game needs and deserves better than typical FPS game modes - we need more than Deathmatch, Capture the Flag, etc.

I has a sad. Not complaining, just hoping that if we bring it up enough, they will realize we have the right of it and come up with something that works.

A: We’re testing some ideas. No ETA.

Dikaiosyne26: Are Match Score and change in ELO related in anyway?

A: No.

Kaeseblock: Any chance to see asymmetric game modes soon? (for example: one team has to defend a dropship, the other team has to destroy it)

A: Soon, no. Possibility,yes.

...

Alvor: A possibility of protection/escort missions?

A: No plans for missions at this time.

Again, not complaining, just that I really want better game modes... this game needs better than typical FPS carbon copies.

This news leaves me very skeptical on what is going to be in CW when it is finally unveiled. It is beginning to sound more and more lack luster. How can you not have more asymmetrical and objective based game modes when CW is introduced? Makes no sense, unless CW has been scrapped and they're just not telling us.

I just want less generic game modes, and again, some of us have posted hundreds of ideas on how to make more objective-based stuff work in PVP and... nothing.

What we will probably get is "Capture the Flag" when what we need is "Capture / Defend the Space Port" with multiple objectives that force each team to split up their forces, etc.

He very plainly says that yes, it is a possibility. What is the problem?

Yeah this bugs me a bit as well.

I feel like Base Attack/Defend, Escort Attack/Defend and make some kind of Dropship related something or other would've been great for this game.

And i've seen versions of them in old old old FPS type games, so I know it's doable.

It's also possible that every atom that the earth is composed of would suddenly vanish via atomic entropic principles. The chances of this, while one in a number so large it would have more zeroes than the earth has atoms, is more likely than PGI coming out with a new game mode in the next 12 months.

I assume that you are simply ignoring the upcoming "Dropship Mutator" mode (or whatever it is being called now)?

Consider that objective or mission style game modes would require a team based MM than what we currently have. What's the point of new types of gameplay if we're pretty much just going at each other to wipe the other out, or try and use speed to our advantage to cap points on a map?

What dropship mutator? Originally it was supposed to happen in December. Now it is mid-March with no likely timetable for its release. At least not this month. Not sure this is still in the works at this stage.

Yeah, I'm skeptical as well, but I'm not giving up hope entirely. I honestly don't care if it takes longer than expected to produce decent CW, as long as it is coming at some point. I would feel like they conned me out of my money if they scrapped CW, as far as I'm concerned, that is the game. The promise of CW is probably the number one thing that brought me into this game (other than it being a MW title), and there was a time when CW was being presented as the "meat and potatoes" of the game, if you will. I'm really hoping we get some update on it soonish, just something to let us know they're hard at work on it, because if that gets scrapped...well the whole game may as well be scrapped, and I'll have to bring money money elsewhere.

No, that's just next to community warfare and DX11 in the vaporware pile for me.

Well, that seems less of a game mode, and more of an option on existing game modes. Assault, or Dropship Assault w/ 4 Respawns. Conquest, or Dropship Conquest w/ 4 Respawns.

For the love of all that is Battletech, please make some really "Battletech"-y Game Modes!

That's what I was wondering when I saw the thread title... Where exactly does he say "no plans"

From what I could tell he says its a possibility, but not soon

Yes it is still in the works, like the rest of the game. We waited a long time for the Alpine and desert maps, but we have one of those now and the other is coming next week (unless they changed it).

I want new game modes as well, but claiming that we will not see any in the next 12 months is plain stupid.
