lol lets be honest consumables was only implemented as a way to extract money from players. Its a bad game mechanic and can only hurt the game's money making potential in the long run

You know, you don't have to purchase consumables...

I won't, and neither will you when there isnt anyone to play from yet another failed Battletech game.

I don´t like the whole Coolant Flush concept,
but i would be fine with consumable Coolant pods with all the drawbacks of risking internal explosion damage and the cost of weight and crit space.

I hope Artillery Strikes/ Air Strikes require the Command Console.

If the game suddenly dies because there are consumables, I will freely admit to egg on my face.

But it won't happen, and I can't think of a single instance where it has happened in the past (unless they were P2W consumables, which these are not).

Its not just about these consumables its about the path it puts the game on. If you cant see that train I'm sure you think that boating and ECM is ok too.

Boating is fine, as long as you know the weaknesses that come with boating and how to use them to stop the boater.

ECM is clearly not OK.

So what this comes down to is that you see consumables as a gateway to worse things. And despite the fact that this is nothing more than a guess you predict the game will die because of it.

PGI has gone to far this time! Coolant flushes are TOO magical! Not in my game of 30 foot tall monster robots battling it out across the galaxy!

Coolant pods are in BT lore: http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Coolant_Pod

Coolant Pods != Coolant Flush

Not even freaking close, hell they can even explode like ammo. I see no justification for Coolant Flush just cause Coolant Pods exist.

That's why I stated the PODS exist, and went on to list differences and provide a link to information on them... because they are not the same.

Hey I'll happily be shelled by the opposition side as a game mechanic, but not by players paying cbills or mc and calling in x number per mathc depending on RL or game wealth.

Bring on the coolant pod. Forget the coolant flush module.

Who said PGI are not making money on this? Let them come out and say they need the consumables cause they are not making enough money on this game.

Or better yet, make it Pay to Play then the pro consumables camp can go back to Team Fortress 2 or whatever non Mechwarrior game. Wolfenstein: Enemy territories have plenty Arty and airstrikes.

How much do you want PGI? Tell us! Let us pay you to stop this BS.

Not too different from coolant flushes (flush = reduce heat by a set amount rather than boosting heatsinks, is a module rather than a standard slot and presumably does not take damage).

I dunno, the elimination of that one ton of coolant/hardware and one critical space to house same looks pretty magical to me.

I'm still waiting for my Ragnarok shield and the powerups!

How cool would that be? You could shoot down an enemy and then they could drop one of three or four powerups! One could reduce weapon cooldown, one could repair armor and the last one could increase speed for thirty seconds!

Did PGI say when they were gonna add javelin missiles? I cant wait to take an atlas out in three hits!
