The downfall of almost any LRM boat is opponents closing the distance, and typically catapult's short range armament is outclassed by most light mechs. This load out addresses this problem by replacing the stock standard engine with a upgraded XL to save tonnage and allow the addition of two SRM6 launchers with a ton of ammo apiece. Every Pilot knows that the only way you get left alone is if you hit the enemy hard enough to make them leave, and its a joy to see mechs scamper over for a seemingly quick kill only to receive a fistful of missiles in the face. DHS and EndoSteel round out the chassis with no space to spare, and 5 tons of LRM ammo insures that those mechs will be pretty beat up before they reach you

CPLT-A1 LRM+SSRM Hybrid

I know its a slow LRM boat and it could possibly pack more of close or long range missiles but having both will mean the lights will have to think carefuly when charging inside that 180 meter range marker. I would not like to face this in open battle, but it will give new players a chance to change a battle with the amount of offensive capabilitys this loadout provides.

Here's a build I love because it's just a bunch of fun. It's a 60-ton Dragon 1-N tooling around at ~100kph with two arm-mounted precision weapons and a big kick from the chest for close-range deterrent/area spray (good against light 'Mechs you might not be able to hit as well as you'd like with the arm-mounted weapons).

There comes a time in every MechWarrior's life when they feel the call of the sniper.

Most will pick up a poptart 'phract or a gauss cat and be on their merry way. Others try to shoe-horn Gauss Rifles or PPCs on to their existing mechs. Some even chose to drive the venerable 6PPC Stalker.


But sometimes, you just want to go fast and shoot some heads.

Enter the Dragon.

60 tons of rage sprinting around at 81kph (before speed tweak), capable of putting down the hurt at all ranges with a Gauss Rifle and 2 ERPPCs. The high-heat ERPPCs make a perfect match for the incredibly cool Gauss Rifle, and together they provide enough damage to kill any mech with a single well-placed headshot.

And, as an added bonus, all of the guns are arm mounted.
