Regardless of what hacks are or are not present, nothing is worth implementing PB due to A. it being a resource hog and B. it being garbage.

BloodMadjai works for PunkBuster ... we know that now because no gamer who has experienced it's craptasticness would ask for it.

Btw I also never noticed problems with hacks/bots in MWO.

One would suspect that everyone who replied strongly actually IS using a 3rd party aiming aid.
I'm not accusing, I'm just sayin.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!
PunkBuster is the worst piece of crap to ever grace the internet. It barely functions at it's job, existing mostly as a placebo to make idiots feel better, than publishers mandate developers use for the sole purpose of, again, making people feel better. It randomly kicks people that have done nothing wrong all the time, which results in people thinking it works.
It does not work. It never has worked. It just makes tons of noise and is obnoxious as hell, but accomplishes NOTHING in the long run.
The only good anti-pirate out there is VAC. It lets you cheat. It lets you cheat for a little bit. Then when it's confirmed you are in fact cheating, your account bites the dust. That's how you deal with cheaters, not just randomly throwing off the server because it's in a bad mood.
Let me be clear, I've known many devs and all of them have hated PunkBuster. It's a terrible system that's basically the longest running and most amusing.. well, I won't go as far to say "scam" since it does legitimately try, it just makes a lot of noise to cover it's own incompetence.

You're insinuating, and I'm not sure I understand your argument. A stroll down the suggestions forums reveals that people have very strong opinions that they like to express on this forums or, dare I say, any forum. Though PGI doesn't draw much from community suggestions, that doesn't mean that a bad idea gets a pass.
I've played a few different games with punkbuster implemented. Did it stop cheating? No. Did it reduce my fun? Yes, having inconsistent versions of punkbuster and other technical issues ended many a match for me. Therefore, I have to join the consensus and say no to this suggestion.

This sounds about right.

It is so widely knwon, that it is easily accessible for the dark side. They can find ways to prevent punkbuster from sounding an alert, until PB releases an update. This will then again quickly be adapted to make the bot working again. It is a death cycle that PB is currently losing.
The only thing PB can ever hope to stop, is script-kiddies. Those usually have no chance of successfully manipulating a server authorized game, like MWO.

VAC would be nice, but would probably ban everyone using the no-film-grain fix or people who deleted river city.

This game seems to be VERY hard to cheat with so far.

punkbuster may have been good in the past, but in battlefield 3 all it did was kick me repeatedly every time there was a patch and nothing ever seemed to happen to all of the players running all of the different flavors of aim bots. <- to simplify: legit players get kicked and hackers go on their merry way.
so a very sincere F*** NO!!
1,266 matches since open beta began. number of suspected hackers encountered 0.00.
