This area is for feedback, so here's mine.
This game is not balanced. With the exception of the Raven 3L tonnage is all the game is about right now. Especially in 8 man drops tonnage, meaning Atlas' and Stalkers, are all that matters because there is nothing that requires any type of play other than brawling with as much tonnage as you can muster.
9 out of every 10 8 man drops that I have been involved in consist of Atlas' an Stalkers with one or two other mechs. If there is more than 1 or two other mechs they are almost always Raven's. And people have figured out that the ultimate advantage is 4 D-DC's with 4 3L's.
Basically what that means is that the feel of Mechwarrior is lost. I do not feel like the game, right now, is anything other than 8 mechs meeting in the middle of a map to brawl until one team runs out of mechs. Sure, it's fun once in a while, but it gets old fast.
By contrast, PUG games at least bring a greater variety of play. My problem with PUG drops is that since the ELO we are penalized for dropping with 4 well seasoned players. The ELO seems to attempt to balance our 4 good ELO's with dead weight PUG players, essentially handicapping the team. In my clan we have found that it is now better to drop with 2-3 man teams so that there is ELO points left over that the remainder of the team has some experience as well.
Essentially what I am saying is that there is not mucch variety in this game. Lack of variety leads to imbalance. I'm still enjoying playing this game for one reason: I have come to enjoy hanging out with my online friends. They're carrying me through the game at the moment.
I'm hoping for more game variety in the future, but nothing seems to be in the pipe that's been mentioned. I'm just hoping for good things before game launch at the moment.

I get the ELO and I'm sure it does its part, but could we PLEASE have some type of weight tonnage or chassis restriction, even if its only for the 8 mans?
Please and thank you!

I'd be more in favor of chassis limits than tonnage.
I don't play in 8mans atm, but doesn't RHOD use drop decks (which is close to chassis limits) like old leagues from past MW's ?
How do people feel that is working there ?
Good ? Bad ??
Should it be implemented into the 8v8 queue's ? (A few choices in drop decks. Pick your deck for the group, setup and launch. You get matched against that deck etc.)
If so, should it just be an option ? (leaving the current 8v8 we have now still there if people want to play that way, and possibly leaving open the option for other types of limits etc)
Or the only way ?
Not having played in either yet really gives me no experience in the matter, so I would take the advice / suggestions of the top teams over most others.....(generally)

The problem with this idea is that you end up in situations where an Awesome will handicap the team because it gives up 15 tons to the Atlas. The Spider gives up tonnage to the Raven, the Dragon gives up tonnage to the Cataphract.
Limiting the drops based on tonnage rather than chassis prevents the lighter category mechs becoming obsolete in favour of their larger counterparts.
My big gripe righ tnow is that the only mechs really worth taking to an 8 man drop are the D-DC Atlas and the Raven 3L. Limiting drops based on Chassis won't really fix that. Limiting the drops on tonnage, and changing a few mechanics in the game might. That and some changes to the frickin' Raven 3L.
