I wish reading comprehension was still taught in school
if you read my original post I am neither against creating a good game by changing things for a better experience...
(and you can call this balancing if you want)....nor against people contributing observations of bugs, or things which would improve the game. that's why the title is: constructive criticism V.S just whining....

But as for a perfectly balanced game why don't you just flip a coin?

personally i don't mind a little imbalance in my games it just make it sweeter when my team wins :(

every game I ever have played has people who try to unbalance it....
it never ends...

debating by hyperbole is an example of what i am talking about.

for me this is a great game win or loose.
aimbots or no aimbots....
cheese builds or no
balanced or not

I still think a good team effort makes games worth playing
and for me that's what makes this a great game,

war is NOT fair! war is not balanced neither is life and thus nor should a Game be
read:
sun tzu the art of war.
clausewitz on war.
or just about anything written on the subject by any general with a winning record it is all the same.

it is about team work, coordination, innovation.
improvise, adapt and overcome.

...

In war, when you die, you're dead, no second chance. In this game, when you die, you get to watch others play for a few minutes. I shouldn't have to point out that water is wet, but this seem to have escaped your notice, if you try to quote Sun Tzu or Clausewitz in there.

Camparing a game to real warfare is one of the most twisted reasoning anyone can come up with. Yes, war isn't fair. But a wargame should be. A wargame is much more similar to sport competition, except that you use your brain instead of your muscles.

Now, are you going to claim that a sport competition doesn't need fairness?

ya having played semi pro hockey...I am saying that there are always going to be things which you have to overcome...
.I am saying that despite the intent to level the playing field..in games..
people always will find a way to un level it. just complaining to complain about this build or that build ...seems un productive...
that was the POINT.

anyway this was just supposed to be a thread about not getting to worked up about
people who maximize builds etc...

I am not supporting cheating and i am NOT implying war is a game...
(according to some it is an art) ( according to others not)

I hope this clears it up...
cause i feel like this thread has run its course...
its starting to feel like I am arguing with my ex wife
I say "hey looks like the sun might come out" ....
and she says.." so you think i am fat?"
WTF? .....so I am done with this...

so go ahead troll it up I wont be looking....

For everyone saying a game must be perfectly balanced because it's not real life:

People keep posting the "Imperfect Balance" video. I don't think they know what it means.

They look at the title of the video. You don't actually expect them to watch it and understand, do you?

Yes, I find myself often disappointed though.

Is this the secondary effect of people letting their kids be miniature jackasses in their social interactions, where the ones that get the short end think, "that's the way it should be"?

I think people in general have been taught to have a thought/idea/opinion FIRST and THEN go out looking for evidence to support that.

Not you know vice versa.

no game can be compelling if it is compleatly balanced because there is no thrill. The other point is a good team will kick the pants off any cheese build no matter how powerful it is.
