I did this today.

I'm expecting a timeout for it, and if I get one I won't complain...I'll have earned it. I dropped, did my normal "gl, hf " thing and received "suck my %^% you worthless *&%!!" in both team and across spatial. I don't know why, don't know the individual, I asked what his problem was, I got a very similar answer, and I blew his atlas apart (I fired, he fired back, and we went at it, I could have stopped, should have stopped, when I blew his arm off but I didn't...he died).

My response to the situation was completely mine, and I own my own actions. It was a less than mature response to a less than mature baiting. I TKd today, and there is only a matter of mitigation...not extenuation. I'm sorry I did it, but I'm not going to hide from that fact that I did.

You have NOTHING to apologize for. Some schmucks last night in a match I was in were dropping racial slurs and being a--hats in team chat, and after having had enough of it one of my teammates decided to send a little "slap" message to the one being offensive. He proceeded to fire on me twice with alpha strikes. After the 2nd one it was go time. I will not EVER tolerate a) behavior like theirs (verbal abuse and racial and sexual orientation slurs), and I certainly am not going to accept being blatantly fired upon without responding in kind.

Your reaction (and response) was 100% justified and balanced in my opinion, and I would (and WILL) do the same in your situation every time. No apologies needed. A--hats like that need to have their mechs trashed until they wake up and get the point that they need to start growing up and acting like mature, civil human beings.
