Never played it to be honest, but have seen plenty enough of it to know it is a better game.

First off...
I still play it to this day. Servers are still up and running, they even hotfixed a few things since the "FINAL WE ARE NO LONGER DEVELOPING THE GAME" patch.
It's been better than MWO in many ways, and continues to be.
It's a free download if you have Crysis:Warhead, and the game is like $10 or something now.
My point is you can still play it despite the whole PGI mess, and it's still glorious. And it has a local client, and no one will ever be able to take that away from me.

Personally my favorite living legend is probably Sunspot Jonz, and he is still recording right now. Why can't you play them again? Do your friends not like underground hip-hop? That is a shame if it's true. It's probably some of my favorite stuff.
