While I can see that there is a need to pin a thread or two every once in a while, when almost half of the threads on page one are pinned it seems excessive. At the time of this posting 14 of 30 threads on the first page of the General Discussion forum are pinned. I expect that some of these will remain at the top of the list due to the frequency of responses in which case they do not need to be pinned.

This one needs pinned!

the game must be balanced if all we have to complain about is the number of pinned topics!

I think anything more than 5 pages of pinned threads is too much. But no one cares what I think (not even me).

If I open the sub-forum and all I can see on my screen are pinned threads, then that is too many. This sub-forum falls into that category.

We have way too many. Most of these should be moved to the announcements page.
Or maybe the PGI web developer could come up with something that would hide Pinned topics if they have not been updted (or a checkbox to permanent hide them.
Or go lowtech and have a single Pinned topic with links to other topics (like the dev tracker does, which is my favorite pinned topic).

Can I pick which threads stay and go? If so then yes, we need less. If no, then inevitably the wrong ones will be de-stickied and we will all be left unhappy.
