Is feeling like you don't really matter.

Don't get me wrong, there are some uber players out there that can regularly make 8 kills, when they have 7 pylons for teammates. I am not one of those players. I am good, but not great. I average between 300 - 500 damage per round according to my stats, which considering the number of 0 damage cap rounds thrown in, or disconnects, whatever, I feel that's pretty decent.

Instead, I get to ride the Elo seesaw.

In many matches, it's an 8-0 massacre, and I could have probably sat at base and picked my *** for all it matters. In this case apparently Elo smiled upon me. I pretty much would have won simply by showing up.

Then in the next, its 8-0 the other way.

What burns me there is regularly doing several hundred damage and topping the losing side. I would say 90% of the time I lose I top the losing side board... this shouldn't happen under a good matchmakers... I should basically be at the top about 12% of the time.

But that's not even close to what is happening. When I win, my position is pretty random, from 1st to 8th on my sides scoreboard, but when I lose, easily 90%+ of the time I'm one or two.

The part that I find really hard to digest is, up until last patch, none of this happened. Wins... they were nail biters. Loses, if I screwed up, I felt like I really hurt my team. Matches were almost always extremely close at the end. It was super balanced and felt like skill ultimately mattered more than anything. The day after they fixed the cannot find match bug, the game was pretty much perfect.

Now... not so much.

Something changed, beyond the breaking of the weight based match making. And something changed massively for the worse. I have read literally hundreds of posts where people say somethings gone wrong since last patch with Elo.

Please undo whatever that change was PGI, so once again, this is a game about skill, not about rolling the dice with the matchmaker. Hell, if we have to wait 15 seconds longer, instead of having an algorithm deciding the outcome of the match, please make it so!

As sad as it is, and this is a communication FUBAR of the 9th degree, comments in the feedback forum seem to be the ones least often acknowledged or responded to.

Simply put, commenting in the feedback forum seems to be about the least effective place to post.

... but that my friends, is another story.

I've actually been seeing more close matches then in the past. lots of 3v3 coming down the wire types stuff. Much less of the very one sided fights.

hmm, op, I find myself in the same position, but the matches are usually not 8-0 usually a few deaths on other side too. Most time in loosing efforts im close or at the top.
As far as What i consider the most annoying thing, well thats River city night , hands down.

I feel that when multi drop games arrive, you will feel more like you actually have done something as the longer match time will provide a framework for satisfaction and eliminate the pointless fast caps where most everyone feels like they did nothing, as they in fact did . Do . nothing.

A close second is the cheese. Say what you will about mwll, no lab means no cheese which to me MORE than offsets any creative ******* I might get in the mechlab.

this is a new all time low with the filter.
W i llies.... Really,, How sick are you people with the language filter... enough is enough already..

Cheese is just depressing as it clearly illustrates how such a large percentage of humanity s cks

I dont find cheese overly bad, except maybe the SplatCat, simply because that mech is stupidly designed ( fastest torso twist in the game on a missile support mech??? WTF?? )...

It's only when you pair cheese with premades that my blood boils. 4xSplats, or 4x3ls, or even 4xany assaults are ********, especially in the face of the current matchmaker not doing its job. Frankly dropping with 4x assault mechs is enough to win most pug games so long as your premade aren't spending the match drooling on each other.

It still gave the internet a very useful meme. :P

and I'll go there.... People who hate on Inception usually are people who still haven't figured it out yet (and probably think the Matrix is "deep"). Chris Nolan? Probably the best"mainstream" director arm. Though I admit, Inception doesn't hold a candle to the Prestige.

Haha I have noticed that if I don't bring my "A" game for whatever reason (tired, tipsy, trying out a new robot, haven't played in a bit) I get my butt kicked. But matches in general are much closer and that rocks.

See, theres the thing. For me, that was EXACTLY true. The game was f-ing epic, from the point they put Elo in... then last patch time, then suddenly I was surrounded by trial mechs and banzai suicide rushers again.

Just because someone from IGP or PGI doesn't post in a thread (in the Feedback forum, or any other forum), doesn't mean it's not read, and the feedback gathered and passed up the chain to the appropriate folks.

It's not realistic to expect the Devs to post in, or acknowledge, every thread they read.

It's actually a bit pointless as you end up looking like an automated drone.
