Don't get me wrong, there are some uber players out there that can regularly make 8 kills, when they have 7 pylons for teammates. I am not one of those players. I am good, but not great. I average between 300 - 500 damage per round according to my stats, which considering the number of 0 damage cap rounds thrown in, or disconnects, whatever, I feel that's pretty decent.
Instead, I get to ride the Elo seesaw.
In many matches, it's an 8-0 massacre, and I could have probably sat at base and picked my *** for all it matters. In this case apparently Elo smiled upon me. I pretty much would have won simply by showing up.
Then in the next, its 8-0 the other way.
What burns me there is regularly doing several hundred damage and topping the losing side. I would say 90% of the time I lose I top the losing side board... this shouldn't happen under a good matchmakers... I should basically be at the top about 12% of the time.
But that's not even close to what is happening. When I win, my position is pretty random, from 1st to 8th on my sides scoreboard, but when I lose, easily 90%+ of the time I'm one or two.
The part that I find really hard to digest is, up until last patch, none of this happened. Wins... they were nail biters. Loses, if I screwed up, I felt like I really hurt my team. Matches were almost always extremely close at the end. It was super balanced and felt like skill ultimately mattered more than anything. The day after they fixed the cannot find match bug, the game was pretty much perfect.
Now... not so much.
Something changed, beyond the breaking of the weight based match making. And something changed massively for the worse. I have read literally hundreds of posts where people say somethings gone wrong since last patch with Elo.
Please undo whatever that change was PGI, so once again, this is a game about skill, not about rolling the dice with the matchmaker. Hell, if we have to wait 15 seconds longer, instead of having an algorithm deciding the outcome of the match, please make it so!
