Look. ok. I know I am new to this party....and more then likely showing my age....but is there anyone out there that was a member of these places?

BattleTech Centers

I personally played in Chicago (North Pier Mall), San Diego, and Yokohama Japan. I was known back in the day as "The Overlord". I used to hang out in the San Diego one every chance I got. Used to run initially in a Thor v6, then changed to a Loki v5.

Anyone out there are least familiar with the Tesla pods?

The Tesla pods still make appearances at various cons now and then, so I've gotten a chance to play in them for a brief time. Never made it to any of the Centers though.

BT master - Red Planet enthusiast.
San Diego.. back in the late 90s.

Really hoping MWO sees some of the features we remember like full-on heat, generators, coolant loops, jams, bay fires, explosions and ammo dumping. Unsurpassed BT sim experience and depth of combat..

Agree it was so full on that you have to pay attention to what you do and such, this is coming from a 4.10 pilot though but it was fun and a unique experience to play it like that.

I played North Pier a few times. Fallout Shelter in Minneapolis has the pods.

There's a company that runs a group of pods here in Grand Rapids. I spend a fair amount of time there at least once a month. lots of fun.

I used to play at the Virtual World headquarters in Glendale. Martian Football FTW!

The pods show up every year at GenCon in Indianapolis each August.

There used to be one at Circle Center Mall in Indianapolis, but it's long gone. I miss having one nearby (of course I don't live there anymore, either).

In Texas, I know of two locations. I am unsure of the Houston location, but I personally play at VGCorps in Dallas, operating out of Gunslinger Games. I use the call-sign 'Observer' there.

For those in the Dallas area, the pods should be at A-Kon this weekend.

I posted this in another thread, I bet it will be liked here! ^_^

This is what I have to show:

What I thought was interesting about the Yokohama Station was that the game was run entirely on Macs... I don't think that was normal at other Centers?

I first saw some at Youmacon up in detroit, and saw them again at Anime Central. http://getinthepods.com/ has at least some data about what cons they'll have some at.

Oh! GenCon has had a dozen couple of lances worth of some pods for the past couple of years, and will this year as well I believe. Also in Indianapolis.

Makes me happy to know that I am not the only BTC Vet.

I ran master level missions in San Diego...Never did the Master trial tho.

My first mission there, wish I'd saved the print out....I had nearly a dozen kills in a 2 min stretch. I had SO much fun there. I miss it.

I remember playing at Dave and Buster's long ago, and since then at Mechcorps in Houston, and all the cons they go to.
