While playing MW4 Mercs I found myself wishing my Machine Gun bank would fire autonomously while I managed my other weapons. How about a toggle fire mode option?

Another idea for the massive pile...

Did you try grouping your weapons by range?

That's like saying light switches waste electricity. I think a toggle for continuously firing weapons is a great idea.

As with any low damage weapon / barely effective weapon much like small lasers, they are meant to be the last nail in the coffin for maximum effect after you have fully outfitted your mech and only have 1 or 2 tons left with no more armor to be allocated. Some would choose heatsinks maybe if they are energy based, but its all personal preference.

It would be the perfect feature for machine guns and small pulse lasers. Most of the time I forgo MGs because I can't be bothered to hold down the trigger while piloting. I want to be able to switch them on and forget about them, so I can fire my other weapons and evade.

I support this feature as well. I would also like a sticky key, press once to engage "hold down" press again to disengage "hold down".

Right! It's a simple thing that goes a long way in practice.
