Please color code weapons in the Mechbay so that it's easy to discern the different types quickly and at a glance. I suggest the following:
Light Red for energy.
Dark Yellow for ballistic.
Light Green for missiles.
Weapons and equipment that cannot currently be equipped because of slot/weight limits should be greyed-out.
Weapons and equipment that cannot be installed because of hard point limitations will not be displayed at all (exactly how it is now).
Also, please provide a filter check box so that players can toggle which types of weapons and equipment they want listed in the window.

I always thought, if there were color-coding, it should be more intuitive.
Yellow for energy weapons, as in the color of the sun, yellow.
Blue for ballistic weapons, the alliteration makes it easier to remember for newer players; or if you like, the blue-effect weapon barrels get from being fired.
Red for rockets/missiles red glare.
