So, I've played around a bit with the CPLT-K2 and so far I've had "Killed by Djmack2011: engine destroyed" twice now. I was at ~55% heat tolerance "each dual PPC shot from 55% lands me at ~80% tolerance".

The last time I commented on this, everybody seemed to think I was lying and spamming the shutdown override. However, I do not use the shutdown override because I don't like the idea of damaging my hull without tactical reason. And it was definitely not due to enemy fire. In neither instance was there anything in the area that could one-shot my torso through its remaining armor. Nor was there anything that could have ripped through both my armor and chassis with a single, invisible hit from either my front or back.

I have deduced that this is either a bug "since both times it happened right as I tried to fire my main guns" or hacking is involved.

If it happens again, try to get a screenshot of the damage report. It's hard to say but this is a reported problem that keeps popping up but no one is ever able to verify it. The damage report would at least be a verifiable lead that your mech is damaging itself (and hopefully with what).

My gut tells me it's a de-synch between your heat meter and what the server thinks your heat meter is, leading you to believe there's more heat available, but it should force you to shut down and not instagib you while moving if that was the case. Who can say what you'd see in a desynch though.

In all honesty the last thing to damage that mech was an LRM 15. However that was long before the engine blew. I'll try and get a screenshot if it happens again.

I didn't go out of bounds... I would have known if I had gone out of bounds.
