Folks,

I wound up on the F3 side of Alpine Peaks in Assault mode. I suggested we move into the hills behind our base, instead of trying to attack the E6 ridge that the team starting at D7 usually occupies. In theory, this would make the other team come to our defensive position.

This strategy failed. Don't try it at home. (It *might* have worked for a team equipped only with AC 2s, but the chances of that happening are slim to none. I also suspect part of the problem is that there is no other side of the hill behind the F3 base. Compare this to the E6 ridge, where a mech on the ridge can just step backward a few paces to get out of the line of fire and avoid LRMs.)

It looks like the F3 side is just going to have to attack E6, assuming the D7 team chooses to defend there.

Ok it may be because I have not had enough caffeine this morning but, Alpine doesn't have a strong or weak side. I have the same win loss on both sides of spawn. And also not even knowing which spawn you are specifically complaining about would not help in my understanding. Please use grid reference's or accurate land marking to describe the positioning.

From my (imperfect) memory, if the D7 team defends the E6 ridge, the D7 team usually wins. If the D7 team doesn't stay together or doesn't stop at E6, then it's 50-50.
