LRM's are too accurate and receive targeting advantage for indirect-fire without any supporting systems like C3 Computers or TAG equiped spotters. I have no problem with a mech carrying a TAG and directly facing enemy mechs to be spotters for indirect firing of friendly units it is sided with. Even a spotter with a C3 Computer module would be likely to have balance for defenders and indirect firing LRM's. The current spotter/firer relationship is broken and heavily biased the combat for this teaming, without the intervention of ECM. The ECM seems to have been added in a overkill fashion to try to balance this problem and is over-powered in it's usage in mech combat. Appropriate changes to LRM targeting rules to require the usage of TAG or C3 Computers for line-of-sight indirect fire-support should be implemented and should only be limited by ECM within 200 meters or so of either the LRM firing mech or appropriately equiped spotter mech unit. Other suggested changes to heat balancing to movement and targeting should be implemented to bring enjoyable balance to this game. Thank you for reading this posting and any responses.
