http://www.youtube.c...&v=Mq16gBUg4ic#! The first dev blog shows this, watch the end of the trailer. panicked hands grasp at an ejection lever and you are jolted into the sky, watching your mech fall. This is the one and only acceptable mech death besides complete ammo explosion.

For the sake of realism AND FUN this should be a death!

Lose both legs/CT/ = Eject upwards (or for catapult, backwards. ITS CANON!) and watch mech fall, then land and screen goes black/score screen

Ammo explosion/headkill your world EXPLODES and suddenly goes black.... lingers... maybe 2 seconds
then score screen.

How AMAZING an impression would these revised post deaths make on new players/reviewers? It would be hilariously awesome.

Skip the reactor explosion tho

Hrrmmm... Do want, however, The time it takes to animate the ejection could mean more ammo expended on a dead (invincible) mech. Maybe have the "pop" of a dead mech followed by a cockpit jettison? Something obvious like a green plume (i always thought it'd be green) coming from the center torso (or a side for xl) Obviously it'd say your dead first, then other players (and maybe you too from a first person view!) would see you eject and rocket away. Here's hoping someday they'll make us get off the field alive to get xp.

**** that. have you ever played a tank sim/seen videos of tank combat? thats part of it. Mobility kills, playing possum. plus you'd have the targeting info to show its been cored anyway. most of the time armored vehicles are killed by the crew dieing/being hurt or systems breaking down rather than a dramatic explosion. MWO is already close to this idea in its mech deaths And i just want to eliminate the UNSIMLIKE and boring "rotating 3rd person death cam"

Give us a proper exploding Mech at death!
A burning fusion reactor should at least set off all the remaining ammo, which should create a little bang. Maybe that would stop the stupid full-contact fighting-style some brawlers have.

They're pretty against stackpoling though :P

only thing I really noticed was that it looked like he had to charge his PPC...do want that in game pls

Most mechs die with a whimper. the thing is to make it dramatic for the person dieing. make them feel a real "****".

PLAY RED ORCHESTRA! when you die in that game, camera stays in your "eyes" so you see sky, you see your bloody hand in front of your face laying on the ground. its genuinely effecting. MWO could knock that together pretty quickly and easily and it'd be awesome as hell

I can do without stackpoling, or having to add manually charging my ppcs, which I'm pretty sure would be on auto-charge once they were brought online in basic power up.

I have always wondered at how Mike could write such cool characters and byzantine politics, and yet do such shoddy research on the actual combat side. Plus, while I wouldn't mind seeing a bang when a missile boat cooks off, stackpoling really is hard on the salvage. Salvage = profits my friends.

regardless of the end, most people will probably agree that MWO deaths are pretty lame right now with the 3rd person ****.

I also want to see impact marks on your windshield when a machine gun or some other ballistic weapon hits your head like in Mechwarrior 3.
