Does the picture-in-picture scope work? I have trained and equipped it, but I do not know how to operate it. I kind of thought it would just pop up when I hit zoom or something.

Gotta click V, but its pretty worthless. You'll know when it works.

... it actually uses V to activate instead of Z ... give it a shot ... you'll hate it (it's blurry/pixelated) 
... good news it is on their list of things to address however low priority.
