Would it be possible that there could be mountable cannons (like tank turrets) added for more weapon slots but at the cost of money or tonnage?

ACs are essentially tank cannons.

OP is asking about mounting a turret on the outside of a mech...

Imagine an Atlas with two ball turrets on it's shoulders and one in the crotch, two on the back, one on each knee kinda monstrosity!
