I was looking at the CPLT-K2 build with the ac/10's. But I was wondering what ppl’s opinion on the LB X-10 vs. the ac/10's?

LB-10X are bad weapons because of their horrific spread.

You can do 7~ damage at 200m across 5 different sections with an LB-10X, or you can do 10 damage to one section at 450m with an AC10.

The LB-10X got a rather large buff to component damage recently but everything bar the AC20 has 10 health anyway, so the AC10 is still just as good at it.

I would experiment with them to find out what you like. I've heard good things about the LB10X with 4 ML, although I've never piloted it myself. I have, however, piloted the AC10 build with 4 MLs and it was pretty fun. Thoughts are suddenly flowing in to my head :). The AC10 might be a bit better because it would allow you to stay at range and snipe which you will have to do because of how easy a Cat is to kill. The LB10X would probably work better when you have a nice assault to follow around and support him/steal his kills .

You might also consider going with PPCs. They do the same damage and make use of the K2's arms and give you something to use to shield your body. Two AC2s also work pretty well with 2 PPCs when you use the K2 like a support mech. Also, when people see you have PPCs instead of AC20s, they wont target you as heavily and that will give you time to tear into them with the AC2s (Combined DPS of 8). Also, keep in mind the Dual PPC/AC2 would require a nice big assault mech to take the heat off of you.

It depends how close in you like to get. the lb10 is pretty brutal close range (same with the ac 10) but its spread isnt the best at longer ranges. But this can be a good thing, as if you aint the best shot with the ac, you will miss altogether, and do 0 damage, whereas the lb will still do some damage. The other thing is the lb has had a boost lately, i think increasing its chance to destroy components when shot. and it is 1 ton and 1 slot lighter.

Why? Have they already fixed the typo in the LBX10 crit chance?

Don't even bother to mount LBXs unless you really want to employ them to point blank ranges. And even there, SRMs are way better, lighter and deal more damage.

Go with AC10s, unless you want to have some fun in CQC.
