Devs,
If anything, the large map you have given us has proven just how much better larger maps are.
Could it be possible to take all existing maps and simply double them in size?
Thing is, scout mechs and long range fire mechs have little role in the small maps. On the other hand, brawlers still have a very potent role in big maps (since the maps do have cover and terrain).
It is only in the big map that we see mech roles come out and truly shine. It is a thrill to have controlled combat situations rather than a clusterF of mechs playing grabarse at point blank range.

or just put out new larger maps, like the new one on the 19th, and fix the glitches in the old maps, like river city, and frozen city.

I like the current maps the size they are, I would like to see the tile sets used in these maps applied to large maps, Perhaps we could have river city and then metropolis. Frozen city and Twin Cities(like Minneapolis/St. Paul in January, ha ha ha). I thought I read somewhere that they are working on tile sets and then they'll be able to use the tiles to make bigger maps because they'll have the buildings and resources already.
I dunno, I want larger cities. larger industrial zones, and more giant maps.

Why make the current maps larger when you could just add new maps with the same environment but larger and in new layouts?
Having a mix of small and large maps makes adds diversity to the battlefield.

Instead of getting rid of small maps, and doing the work to double their size, they should just build new ones. Like, why delete content?

I actually like the current maps, but I do think that some new, larger maps will be the way to go.
At the moment, Alpine Peaks and Caustic Valley are my favourite maps, and I can't wait for the new desert map coming out soon. I'm personally a bit more of a long range player, simply because the mechs I choose favour high damage output over armour or speed, but Alpine Peaks in particular shows just just how well a large map can be done fairly, with plenty of cover to use strategically.
And hey, when it comes down to it, of course you're gonna get cored in under a minute if you go charging down the hill at the enemy lance, even in an Atlas.
It's not about larger maps being "LRM boat heaven" or anything, it's about understanding the map you're playing on and adapting, playing intelligently to win and getting your team to do the same. I don't complain when I get River City, it's just something I have to adapt to.
