hi guys,
I'm new to this game (third day i believe).
The first mech I bought was a Hunchback-4P.
This is his lay-out:
RT: 6ML
LT:AMS, 3DHS, 2AMS ammo
Right arm: 1ML, 2DHS
Left arm: 1ML, 2DHS
STD engine 250
Endo steel
armor:
18
54
10
40
8
40
8
32
32
48
48
Firepower: 40, speed 81kph, heat efficiency 1,18.
Since this is my first mech, it probably has a lot of flaws, but I'm open to suggestions and modifications.
Thanks in advance!

Looks pretty standard for a 4p to me. I might drop one ton of ams ammo and grab another mlas to put in that empty head slot. Also, I prefer to store my ammo somewhere other than torso, but that's just personal preference. Legs are a good place for it.

Good, solid, reliable zombie Mech.

I agree, and i've adapted my build. Now my only concern is overheating, but there's no real way to change this without taking off weapons. thanks for the advice!

I'd roll 4 front torso armor to rear in each RT, CT and LT.
First thing any decent light pilot will do to you is shoot out your hunch from the rear.
I'd get rid of a ton of ammo and take another heat sink if you have the space.

Two tons of AMS is more than you need. I run a 8 MLas and that is about the right number for 17 DHS(assuming proper heat discipline). I use a BAP to fill the 1.5 tons, but you could also install a TAG with max armor.

One note about this: Even from the back of the mech, the main hunch is considered the front torso. Follow the link below to see:

I have almost all of my "hunch" armor on the front because of this.
On topic: Solid build. Yes, it runs HOT, but it will teach you good alpha control. NEVER alpha (fire all weapons at once) unless you line up a clean shot that you can hold for the entire duration (eg, the enemy doesn't see you, is standing still, or is powered down). If that's the case, go for broke (as you play more you'll learn when and how often to do this.
My weapon groups on the 4p were something like this:
1: Arms
2: 1/2 the hunch
3: other 1/2 (plus head if you have it) - often on chain fire.
4: Everything but the arms (or Alpha if you prefer)
It's a good, strong mech when played right, but can have a steep learning curve. Get the hang of it and it will teach you invaluable lessons for piloting any mech.
Good luck!
