After some 7 months I finally activated my premium time of 90 days that came with my initial Founder's investment.

That is the countdown for this game to become more than a 16 man FPS. Until then and after, PGI will see zero MC bought by a hopeful customer who invested in the game way back when it was beta instead of the current soft release that it is.

that's giving them more than enough time to fix the game, seems fair to me.

Iclearly don't understand the time it takes to code a successful game. Hurr durr.

Patience is a virtue. The Devs will do what they feel is fit on their own timeline, not your "fix everything in 90 days" one. Go play another game for a month or two and come back. You'll see progress.

TL;DR: Chill the heck out man.

I think it says something with all the problems that MWO is plagued by like damage bugs whether it's amount or placement of damage, the whole LRM/ECM/SSRM unbalance issue, mechs with messed up hitboxes that are allowed to roam free unfixed etc, they put so much time and effort into making consumables instead. I'd say they have some serious problems with what they focus their limited time and effort on.

Same here. I'm squatting on it until the game is at least into community warfare and/or there are a number of new mechs that I want to play and trick out. So far I've been pretty happy working as I can on the few Heavy variants I like and not worrying about other weight classes.

Me too, I'll activate my 60 days when it will more worthy, when CW or Clan tech will be made available. But tomorrow I'll go for the 1 week premium offer.. to pay off eventual experiments for the jagers. Not that I really need this.. I'm sitting on 100 mil cbills lol :)

I don't have any content left now, honestly. There's grinding jenners. Dragons.

Learn to read. Seven months of beta plus another 90 days is pretty patient and chill for normal non-fanbois.

There's a lot of content to be added. It's still a beta despite what you may think. Instead of huffing and puffing just take a long break.

I love these responses like "huff and puff", "it's beta". Yah no ***** Sherlocks. What I am saying is simple statement of fact as a customer. So many people forget we are the customers..not PGI. There is no threat, no QQing...just a simple statement of being a non-paying customer until/unless the game becomes more than it is after nearly a year of open beta.

A year people...how many games have been in open beta for a year? I can count a handful of successful ones in the past 15 years that milked people in "open beta" and are still alive as a game. The rest all failed or went F2P with such a small niche player base as to barely exist.

Premium time creates XP and CB.

Why do you need the game to be 'worthy' of anything to use a passive bonus? Clarify your position - are you simply playing almost zero right now, and you want the time to be in a heavy use period?

Because you won't have any more fun, or make much more money, in CW+Premium than you will in Soft Release+Premium. If you are good, you are still burning mechs down for big damage and kill bonus.

If you are bad, you're going to be bad in CW. Also, CW and CLAN PLAY are two completely different things. Several people have pointed out the MASSIVE LOGISTICAL ISSUES with getting CLAN PLAY in as a player option and having the game be anything like balanced and not massively power crept.

I used mine about 3 matches after Open Beta started. I couldn't take it. Right now I hover around 60 million CB, and I just dropped to 112k General XP due to buying off the Bad Raven. I've got a huge windfall of both operative currencies, and 5k MC left, for anything that should come my way. I didn't see any point in preserving it for what damn well might be a collapse of the game.

If the game fails at any point here out, I got my money's worth. Sure, I wouldn't have paid 60 dollars for such a short-lived product; but hey I got 60 dollars of playtime out of this game. That and well over 60 dollars of convenience perks.

I would be fine if it stayed in Beta for two more years honestly.

Why?

People will get way more ********* once it's "Live" and complain just as much if not more for the game not being completely bug free with everything they want in it.

I expect this game to be in "Open Beta" for at least another year. They have a lot of new things to add, and bugs to squash.

TL;DR: Beta Beta Beta Beta Beta Beta Beta Beta Beta Beta Beta Beta Beta Beta Beta Warrior online give them time please.

I think the TL;DR is longer than the actual first sentence... lulz

Realistically, a game like this could claim "open beta" for years even with major content infusions. The line between open beta and finished product is pretty blurry when the product is always free as an integral feature and payment is optional.

Vermaxx,

Not sure what really needs clarifying. I as a customer waited seven months to use an ingame benefit (premium) because in those seven months I had hoped the game was actually going to be more than it is. That in itself would tell most game companies there is a problem in satisfying customers.

It isn't, so I figured I might as blow the load, so to speak, and make that my countdown of final interest in the game before it becomes another of the many games that I play off and on to take a break from a fully functioning game instead of THE game I play most intensely.

As for cbills and the use of premium as a reason...nothing at all to do with that. I have hovered around 50 million cbills for the last 3 months without using premium. I own every mech I want to play and have mastered them. I have modules outftted for them, etc etc. So it has nothing to do with a cbill problem due to losing or winning matches.

It's simply about the game not being the product presented/promised/etc in the last seven months.

You're right, it isn't the final promised version. I also agree it has been far too slow. Nevertheless, it IS improving. However, I have no idea if CW will ever be "worth it." Hell, the Clans will probably be such a logistical nightmare that they will be significantly lackluster from a starry-eyed founder standpoint for a long time after they are actually available. Or they just won't be available in a way most of us were hoping.

I just don't understand people who act like premium needed to be held for "a better game," or how not purchasing anything was any threat to PGI. Every single one of us founders has already paid, and with the possible exception of the Blueflags, we've probably paid well above their target per-consumer figure. We no longer matter. Whether or not we buy anything else is meaningless to the F2P model. Sure, they would love infinite purchases, but every F2P is designed to capitalize on 'buy and leave' customers, and then make new customers. I'm critical, but I'm also apathetic. You also paid twice as much as me, so I can definitely see where that would make you more critical.

I stopped thinking of myself as a paying customer 'owed a certain level of performance.' I bought an idea, and even then I SPECIFICALLY limited myself to the 60 dollars I would have paid any other producer for "Mechwarrior V" in a nice box or digital install. Even if we say the game is worth $7.50 a month (or a little less), I have gotten my use out of it in the time I've been playing. Doubly so considering my purchase plan really did 'pay' me far more out than I paid in.

My position is this - premium time was one of the reasons I bought a plan. I factored that into the purchase being worth $60. In short, I used it for rapid (not instant, clearly) gratification. I really cannot understand what people are hoping for as the sign that it is time to use premium.
