Be loyal to House Davion and fly the parade colors, as I often do (Woodland Pattern optional).

Those are really looking great as i am a fan of more toned down paintjobs unfortunately with the color grading ingame they will look: brownish, blueish and you wont be able to see any kind of pattern on anything but alpine.

OK, here is my idea. http://blogs.crikey....hopha-colorata/ the image shows the fantastic colours of our cicadas here.

I do not have a cicada mech, thus am unable to paint one. So I offer the link to the images for inspiration.

'TheGarth' is as much mine as it is yours, as a concept. I am oddly humbled/surprised at the honour, thus, I think the community should have more say in just what 'TheGarth' means. In this case, it means I need help with my CDA-2A's camo/paint.

So, here's the deal.

Respond here with the following:

CAMO: X
PAINT 1: Y
PAINT 2: Z
PAINT 3: A

I will take the three 'best' (according to me) suggestions, and then make a poll. The winner of that poll will be what I run my CDA-2A as.

So, comment away!

Hopefully you're spending so much of your time beating Paul with a stick for running a catapult with 19 single heatsinks that you don't have time to paint your mechs. BTW, after beating him you should tell him that he needs to put on DHS. He'll get better cooling (except in a very specific water situation) right off the bat and will free up 9 tons for use in onthe places on his mech...

This is cool, but I'm confused. Did we name Garth's mech on him? And now he's giving us a chance to paint it?

Actually the community named Garth in a humorous post a while back in reference to The Stig. He has accepted that moniker and is now incorporating the community that gave him that nickname in the paint scheme of his mech. Here's the thread that started it all.

I always thought of Garth's cicada being checkered green and white

While I would love to contribute, even the honor of painting up Garth's mech isn't enough to get me to buy a Cicada. I know FASA was headquartered around here (Chicago burbs) when the Cicada was developed, so I know they must have hated cicadas as much as I did. And while, in 8th grade - the first time I experienced the PLAGUE of 17 year flying grubs - many of my friends would eat cicadas for a dollar, I was not one of them. I must say, that riding along on my bicycle, and having one fly into my shirt was a near fatal incident. So, no Garth. I love you as only REAL man can admit to loving another man, but no way am I going to honor a cicada by buying one just to play with it. They can stay in the ground where they belong.

Cold. I went a bought a 2A just because of this. As it is the only Cicada I have not bothered to play yet (suffered temporary insanity playing the 3C and mastered it) I have decided to master it. After I finish mastering the X5 and my Trebs, which have been neglected because of saild X5.

Pretty much a dead-on match for what Vassago put in -- I have no idea how this can't be the clear winner...

It's too bad you won't even be able to see your Mech paint in anything other than a static mechbay view though, if only there was a way to see one's own Mech from an external perspective while in game

Bright pink, purple, and yellow.

Nah, I'm just kidding. Please don't do that. Eyes will bleed.
