i often give commands; people tend to listen in assault mode even ask for a plan but in conquest mode i am met with tons of insults when i try to give any directions
actually only 40% of the time do they even acknowledge i'm there, the rest of the time they do the exact opposite of what i suggest, not kidding - exact opposite
40% is not bad, but the insults I have never gotten-- could it be your "elo" or other "match-making stat" that's been dropping you with fps players who are playing at pretending that the Game Mode is the lengendary/imaginary "Arena/Deathmatch"?
I mean, I begun noticing that as well-- cos in my early games will filled with clueless PUGs, but as PUGs we didn't mind having some team-chat discussing what to do; but as my ratios start getting better... let's just say the matches get challenging in other ways.
IOW, you probably need to keep failing until the match-making system eventually decides to drop you with people who are just out to have fun.

There are two options to win:
Cap to 750 points
or
Kill the other team.
If I am playing a light,
I see it as my responsibilities to
scout and cap.
If I am playing anything else,
I'm going to join the fight.
Both are valid strategies.
The problem with this is when u get 3 or 4 lights on one team that all go running for caps together.. THUS they leave the rest of the team fighting an uphill battle should the other team stay together even 75% of them...
Only one light mech is needed to really go run for caps the rest need to help with the melee.. in fact if one helping in the brawl is a raven 3L things go even better because of ECM and teams hatrd for 3L's driving thier need to focus on them..

Extreme range is where the Lights split off and cap the posts. A group of assaults and heavies can provide the punch when needed but otherwise just need to stay out of sight until the enemy is located by the scouts. If you're out in the open in say....Alpine, you are screwed. Meds and light heavies would work best staying a couple hundred meters or so from the assault/heavy squad. That way they can see incoming mechs and move to reinforce. if you have a very speedy med, they can either cap on their own or join and reinforce a scout.
This only counts if you have an organized team. If you are in a pug, try to communicate. if you can't rejoin the forums and request the ability to self-destruct.

I have over 2500 drops and I have never witness that.
