Gday all,

I LOVE Host State Rewind (HSR). Its great. TY PGI.
It has made MWO playable for us people with high pings (>200ms).

However, I believe I have also noticed that it’s a double edged sword.
Since HSR was released I now notice that I lag.

It is noticeable when I drop against (sometimes even with) teams of which the majority have low pings (<50ms, 50-100ms). It is especially noticeable during brawls and especially against those with lower pings.

Has anyone else with high pings now noticed/experienced lag post-HSR against low pings drops?

Shouldn't this be in the Feedback section?

only probblem i can think of is. that lagging mechs can damage you when you think you are in cover. becuase they are shooting at the past standing in open you

The only thing that I have noticed apart from the warping when you get too close to another mech is, if there is a close battle within 100m with a couple fast movers and I am in a heavy or medium, my mouse starts to lag and it takes about 1-3sec before my lazers or other weapons will fire.

If I remove myself from the battle I regain proper mouse function

Nope. Haven't noticed this problem. It's just been sweet for me.

No - the game is awesome to use lazers in now. Fighting lights with assaults is now possible

State rewind was the best update they ever did, do not touch it!

I have pretty consistent 200 ms ping, and while it appears that HSR is doing its job (I get hit more often in my Jenner), I haven't noticed any significant decrease in game performance due to lag, if anything, the lag is less noticeable.

By a matter of a fraction of a second, maybe ... but you also have a clear shot at them before you duck behind cover, right?

The total time you're seen in the open shouldn't be any different regardless of ping time, so it should all even out in the end.

no no, you all misunderstand. My lasers and pewpew are FINE. Its just every now and then, particularly in heavy battle against low ping players that I actually LAG (in the traditional sense)... mechs suddenly start skipping about, one sec im there and the next second im 20m away - that kinda stuff...

I have noticed every once in awhile that things will get laggy in close combat, for the most part, it runs fine.

sometimes the LRMs phase through cover for me... especially from LRM 20s slamming into buildings and some hills

I've noticed a similar problem but it predates HSR. Going back probably a month and a half I noticed I was having trouble hitiing some mechs, I'm talking about stationary mechs at 600-700 meters shooting with Guass. It took a while before I caught on that the targets I was missing all had very low pings, usually under 100ms. Higher ping targets even in the same games weren't giving my any problems. I haven't noticed it since the last patch, but I haven't played all that much.
