looks to me like i have enough slots. 14 dynamic and 7 empty

You have 7 slots...with 14 dynamic slots...you still only have 7 open slots.

Why they added the dynamic slot bits is beyond me, seems to only serve to confuse people.

The reason for this is that you can see if you have 7 true slots or 7 fixed slots.

If you have 7 free +0 dynamic, it could mean you still cant add a double HS. Because these 7 free slots are in your legs, CT and head. Means no 3 free slots together. And even if you have 7 free slots, you cant add a DHS.
But with 7 free +14 dynamic you can switch around the 7 free so you might be able to add two DHS.

Its still stupid, and not really helpfull (more confusing). But it has it reasons.
