I'm certainly not the best Mechwarrior around here. My K/D ratio sucks, my Wins / Losses is deep into the loss column, I'm what I'd call a below average player. Lets say a C- or D+. I have piloted a wide variety of mechs, and generally play to have fun. I tend to avoid certain "cheese" Mech layouts, and play solely in PUG matches. Sometimes with my room mate, usually solo.

I do own an Atlas DC, with ECM. However, I had been loath to play it, as I'm not a big fan of ECM, and would prefer to see less of it on the battle field, let alone bring more my self. So, despite my loathing, I put together a triple SRM 6 w/ Art build, and started playing it to see some stats...

Once again, I'm a player with less than a usual .5 K/D ratio, with about the same win / loss ratio. Am I suddenly THAT much better while playing my DC? Or is ECM really so powerful it pumps up a player like me into a new grade of game play?

So please, feel free to post your stats on what you are doing in your DC's. I see enough of them out there these days... And then explain to this old man how ECM is NOT broken in "some" way...

ECM is powerful because it stimulates teamplay/coordination and directly supports other players. The better your team does the better you will do.

The radar on the UI is useful in the same way, you (and your team) will do worse if radar glitches and refuses to display.

ECM interferes with the radar, it's a snowball that just gets bigger.

Well, what about your other atlai? Show us those stats, so we have a comparison to your D-DC.

Take ECM off of your D-DC and find out. Personally, whenever I see a D-DC without ECM, I start Fraps. Something amazing always happens.

OP needs to try out a raven 3L.. Oh wait they're getting nerfed. Might wanna cancel that idea.
