Hi,
I just installed an Nvidia fx quadro 3450/4000 SDI and tested mwo - it is unplayable at lowest settings, windowed mode, lowest resolution.

the driver is ver 307.45. The latest driver will not install, sais it doesnt find any compatible hardware.

other specs :

intel q9550 quad, 4gb ram.

any way to make the game playable ?
anyone has an quadro from same generation that can play the game ? do i know if i try to make it work or it will not play at all...

thanks

Quadro Cards are NOT for gaming!!! Get a Gaming card like a GTX6xx.

Best I can do is point you here. Looks like Radeons do better at gameing, but Nvidia cards are required for certain productivity software, so I assume you're a bit stuck. Unfortunately, I don't think there is much hope for you.

Edit: In this case, I guess it would be FirePros instead of Radeons, which AMD apparently only use on their consumer instead of workstation options.

To verify, I just went over and threw MWo on a Q9650 using a PNY Quadro 4000 here at work. I kept lowering the resolution down from 2560x1600 max settings until I found an acceptable solution. Right at 1920x1080 and min-med settings that system was pushing 40ish FPS. So it was playable.

I think maybe a few more details of your system might prove insightful.

[Corrected oversight: from max to min-med settings]

You will never get that card to run MWO 2 a Playable rate.

Not all quadro's are the same chipset even if they carry the same number.

Notice the GPU "NV42Gl"(actually a variation of the 40) That is so Old that I was using the ATI 850 XT PE(unlocked to PE) Agp when that came out. The NV40 series were a hot running POS dog back then. It is equivalent to a Geforce 6 series.

Above poster has it correct. Tesla, Quadro, Geforce are all based off a series of chip, usually NV (nvidia) for older or GF (newish), or GK (newist). If the chip can run it and it has video out, wether it's a Quadro or Geforce won't really matter. The Quadros tend to have lower clocks, more memory, and more feature support given what they do. So the Quadro will usually be slower in games where the Geforce can't run the professional programs with the full features.

For what it's worth I use a fermi based quadro at work, game runs fine.
