If you install a C.A.S.E into a section that doesnt contain ammo... does it still count?
might be a stupid question, but what the hell

case can only go in side torsos.. it stops ammo explosions from passing past that torso, even if there is no ammo in that torso (or so I understand). You still lose that side torso, just no damage gets passed to the CT.. so, if you are running an XL engine, the case doesn't help since your engine gets blown with that side torso..
Hope that clears it up (and I hope I'm correct

It will stop the explosion in that section. Let's say you have ammo in right arm and CASE in right torso. Ammo goes off and does enough damage to take out both arm and RT with some damage to spare. With CASE you lose arm + RT and it stops there. Without CASE you lose arm + RT and take the rest of the damage in the CT.

so if I put ammo in the legs... will C.A.S.E still play a roll or have a use?

Not unless you got a Gaussrifle in your C.A.S.E. protected torso, it's the rifle that explodes not the Gauss ammo.
Of this I'm not sure but to me it seems like C.A.S.E. and an XL engine is only beneficial when you have a Gauss in your arm. My XL engined Cent with Gauss never died when the arm got taken off.

Yes, ammo explosions in the leg will do damage to the internals in the leg. If there are any extra the leg is gone and the extra damage goes up to the corresponding side torso. Case in the side torso will stop the damage from spiling over to the center torso.
Example, say you have 2 tons of lrm ammo in the left leg and it goes off. your left leg takes 200 damage. Say your leg can handle 50 total damage, the remaining 150 goes to the left torso. Say your torso can handle 100 damage, the remaing 50 damage would go to damage the center torso. With Case that 50 is dissipated to the atmosphere and is essentially lost.

case shouldn't do that it "should"only vent an ammo explosion in the location where it is installed. another broken rule/exploit.
BTW this is a real world Technology look up the M1 abrams ammo storage system

GaussCats benefit from CASE(both sides), keeps both rifles from having a chain-reaction death.

Sorry, Khbazur is right about damage traveling from legs to side to center torso. I forgot that.
@Stingz, that I understand, as the Gauss rifles are IN the case protected torso's. What seems to happen with the Centurion/Gauss combo is that case stops damage ENTERING the side torso from the arm. I don't know if that is supposed to work like that or if it is a bug or if it only seems to work like that.
