Quote from the patch notes:

#1 - The Jagermech: Ballistics fans, this is your BattleMech! BOOM! BOOM! DAKKA! DAKKA! It’s seriously fun. I’m going to buy them all and paint them Desert Tan for reason #2.

#2 - Tourmaline Desert: You're going to love this map. It looks amazing and plays even better! It’s perfect for the Jagermech I just bought.

In a game where you can't pick a camo for a particular map, that sort of comment strikes as silly, naive.

The way things work right now, you'd be really silly to pick a camo based on one particular map, because you're going to be stuck in it on all the maps.

What are you going to do, run around in your silly tan mech in every map you drop in, until you eventually get dropped in Tourmaline once? Yeah, okay, keep dreaming about how "amazing" that is. :)

Since you won't allow us to select an appropriate mech based on the map, maybe eventually you'll at least give us the ability to assign a different camo and paint scheme for the each selected mech based on the environment/climate we're going to drop into (desert, forest, ice/snow, etc), so the game automatically applies the camo we selected to run in each environment. Then at least a comment like that would make sense. Then the camo and paint scheme would actually be, you know, camouflage.

This is the only acceptable paint job for all maps:

Statistically you have the highest chance of getting a snow map, so I paint for snow. Though it seems they mentioned upping the new maps rotation too.

You're a many-ton fusion powered walking death machine. It's hard to hide regardless of what paint you have.

I personally like bright greens and blues on my mechs. A bit of purple never hurt anyone.

I know, it's extremely minor. And it's not really a complaint. It's more of a "really? Come on..." type of thing. Like, you guys built the game. You know you can't do what you're implying to any real effectiveness. It's misleading. Why say it? That's all.

Okay and I'm a little bitter because we didn't get the Hero mech repaint ability in this patch. :)

I just read through the entire ATD#33 looking for something about that and I see nothing. Are you sure? Perhaps it was an earlier ATD?

On the big maps, I am rarely in sensor range when the shooting starts. But even white mechs are black in the distance on Alpine. Why is that? Before you get into sensor range camo could be useful.

I paint all mine bright colors anyway.

Pick Skyline camo and appropriate colors, stand verrrry still on a ridge line. :D

edit: Hope it's not a night map where everyone is using Heat vision. :)

Cowards die in shame. Especially if a Splatcat happens to walk in there too.
