I see topics for all the other versions of the Cataphract but not the 1X

Anyone have any builds for this that they find works really well?

I've been using:
2 ER PPC (1 per torso)
2 Large Lasers (1 per arm)
endo and lots of DHS

seems to work alright and does decent damage at a distance, but have to watch heat.

There has to be a better config though...

I use either a GR or AC10 + as many LLs and then MLs as I can pack in around the engine - typically an XL325 for me. Seems to work really well. You group fire the 1 or 2 LLs you fit in with the AC10 and it gives you a really nice long range punch and the other stuff helps for when you're fighting stuff closer to you. Endo and DHS are pretty much a must for a laser boat like this though...

Natually I go for Endo and DH/S's, all-but-full armour, large laser in left and right torso's, 3 med lasers in the arms and an LB10-X for crit hunting and letting my Heats sinks do their job after some lasr spamming. 14 DH/S's and a STD 280 Engine. I prefer my 2X, but it's not a bad little scrapper.

Not my 4X, which sucks. The energy Hardpoints are in the CT and the missile is in the head.
Don't get it.

I was using an AC20, Large laser and 4 Med Laser before the ECMcalypse.

I'm going to grab one soon and I'm hoping a Large Laser, 4 Medium Lasers, and an AC/5 or Ultra AC/5 will do the trick. I'm just at 2.8m c-bills so I still have a bit more to farm.

im running a 1x with a gr with 30 rounds, ERLL and 3 meds, i use 2 presets 1 click is burst fire gr and erll and other group is all the med lasers set to burst fire, must say it isnt the best close range but i do some damage at long range.I built this just for xp to get elite for my 4x and muromets when i get it.4x build i actuly like 2 gr better then 2 ac 2 uac5 build.4x i think is the better build for the phracts for the money

I run mine with Endo Steel, double heat sinks (as many as I can fit), 5 medium lasers, AC/20, C.A.S.E for AC/20 ammo and max armour, and it's a beast of a brawler. Everything is fair game, even Atlases.

I just got mine but still low on c-bills. I'm running it with 5 medium lasers and an AC/10 because I kept overheating with the AC/20. I'll grab Endo/DHS once I get enough money and hopefully I can start playing around with it!

Once I max the basics I'll go grab an Ilya to round it off (I already have the 4X). Do a lot of you guys run this thing with XL?

i keep the standard 280 engine, pack on 4 large lasers and fill up on Double Heatsinks. does great, cheap to repair, managable heat.

I tried this but with 5 Large Lasers. I almost never use the 2 in the torso except to alpha strike. And the 3 in the arms are in sequence. I kind of like it since you can keep an almost constant stream of damage going. I wonder if by going 4 Large and more DHS you can just alpha most of the time.

I run my 1x for a strong survival mech with long range skirmishing in mind, with also the ability to be savage close in.

My CTF-1x

DHS-Endosteel-standard armor
STD 280
2 large lasers (arms)
3 medium lasers (torso mounts)
UAC5

As many heat sinks as you can fit (mine is totally full.)

This mech has good heat management, decent speed, lots of survivability, and is fun. I like the arm mounted 2 energy mounts. You can get a lot done with them. The speed is a reasonable 70kph with speedtweak. It is not my muromets or my 3d but the 1x and 2x are my brawlers on the cheap. I love all the CTF i have so far, I still am waiting to get a 4x.

I've been using:

Endo and DHS
Std 300 engine (69 kph)
2 Mediums in the right arm, 3 larges elsewhere, and AMS
Maxed heat sinks (I think 20?), max armor everywhere except legs (which I think are still up-armored over stock, although maybe not)

It doesn't have any big one-shot hits, but it's pretty good on heat for sustained fire. Three larges is decent medium-range firepower, and as long as you can keep it on target it can burn through enemies pretty well. I'm not going to claim it's the best, but it's been doing alright by me.

2-button, simple build:

AC20
2ML, 1LPL - in the arms, single group.

Running it with endo, dhs, and the stock engine with 432 armor. A touch hot, but completely usable.

Considering fiddling with 3LPL or a GR/LL build, but my engine selection is kinda limited atm.

For giggles, I build one with 5LL that almost worked.

I haven't used one for a while, but I've had a good time with GR + 5 ML, 300STD, DHS, ENDO.

I've also run GR + 3 LL, 300XL, DHS, ENDO, but I died too often due to side torso destructions and repair bills were HUGE.

My CTF-1x:

Right torso: AC/20, Large laser.
Left torso: Large laser.
Right arm: 2x small laser.
Left arm: Small laser.

Engine: Std 280.
Double heatsinks.

3 tons AC/20 ammo.

Packs a punch, and is viable on medium to long ranges as well. It weighs 69,5 tons so there's room for more armour if you feel you need it.

Try it out :)

This. ERPPC in the torso for good ground clearance. 3 med lasr in arms makes raven pilot sad. And 80+k is freegin fast for a phract. Makes it actually feel like a "cross between heavy firepower and mobility" like a heavy mech should, instead of driving like the smallest assault mech in the game.

Note: this loadout comes into it's own AFTER you have elited it out so the efficiency are all unlocked. The extra turn/twist/arm speed and speed tweak are very noticable on this 1x loadout.

Best 1X is a 3D! ;)

...you can make over 90% of the same builds as a 1X, plus a bunch of other ones that FLY. Well, not fly; jump good, and only trades one arm energy hardpoint for JJs, otherwise identical mechs. Even if you don't poptart it's a 70t ballerina with generous hardpoints...

Runs a little hot, but its a great build if you can manage it.
