I love it. Absolutely love it. Visually stunning, full of tactical opportunities though there are too many areas where you can set up and the enemy literally has no way to approach under cover.

How do you feel? Any great stories? I just finished a game where half our team kept them busy and the other half managed to gully run around them, a large flanking maneuver none of the other maps really support. Not enough cover in Alpine, too much everywhere else.

How do you feel about the new map? LRM madness aside, what's your opinion on it?

surprising amount of walls / canyons makes this map big but also fun to play since you have to peek around every damned crystal to make sure there aren't 8 mechs hiding in a crater or something. Great mix of open / enclosed areas. Havent had much of an issue with the heat, which seems to be everyones main gripe. Then again I havent been unlucky enough to load there in a laser boat.

I'm moving there. I sold all my stuff to the neighbors, and I'm taking a Comstar GreyStars Economy Jumpship there. I'm gonna build a shack under the small dropship pff to the side. I'm going to make a killing selling worm spice and crystal trinkets to space hippies.

So does that mean you hate it?

Also have you ever said something praise worthy since you've been here?

Because on the MWO General Forums, no one has learned to use that throttle setting well enough yet. :)

P.. Love it. I will now be sad to see Night Vision changed. It looks really great on Tourmaline Desert.

Was able to have a run around in testing grounds and guess what i saw in the crashed dropship?

An Atlas still harnessed in.

Love that extra attention to detail

Absolutely stunning map. Fell in love with it from the first second. The tiniest details, the diverse terrain, the vivid colors - all just form up almost perfect battlefield. I love how mechs get overheated. Hint: try double flamers on enemy - you (and them) might get really surprised :)

If the rest of the big maps are similar to tourmaline I'll be happy. It's leagues beyond alpine in my opinion. Neither side has that big of an advantage over the other and I've already used more of tourmaline's area than alpine. More usable battlespace with less ultralonnnnnnggggggg lines of sight with no cover.

I still want an actual urban map, like a big city, and some sort of mangrove swamp/jungly map would be awesome.

Who voted "Hate it"? Find them! Reverse teabag them from the biggest crystal spires with a thumper till a worm comes and finnishes off their sorry souls!

Or just fire 60 LRMs at them.

Its awesome. Static but awesome. Small weather effects would be great. Another plus I didnt see River City Night at all last night.

I would like a variant with bigger weather effects that clear or start abruptly (ie go from clear to sand storm with big differences in view range) I don't think it ever gets dark therre however, with two suns, that would be a very rare circumstance (like an eclipse)

I voted no.

I can somewhat appreciate the playstyle induced by the map, one which seems unique to Tatooine Tourmaline, but the actual colors are washed out and grey (like every map...seriously, tone down the color filters) and the faux-3d textures look awful at even a medium distance. That said, I can also appreciate that it is not easy to render a map of this size without substituting in textures where there should be 3d structures.

I'm definitely enjoying it thus far and have only just started really exploring it. For instance, at G6 on the map there is a large hill with multiple paths up and around it that overlook the Kappa point for Conquest I believe. Would be a great place to stage an ambush. Was also against a team that effectively used one of the craters to flank our team as well.

I'd love a 1/2 size version of this map.

This is the best map they've released so far (next to river city). I absolutely love it.
