I have the motion blur disabled in the options and have effects and post processing sliders down to their lowest values.

I have included r_MotionBlur = 0 into my user config and still cannot get rid of it.

I usually dont play mwo across all my monitors but wanted to take a screen to use as a wallpaper. With everything else set to max and sweetfx running I only manage to pull 20 fps.

Can anyone help me get rid of the blur? It drives me crazy to look at it... :D

EDIT:: Working on hosting at a different location to preserve quality... [Completed]

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

EDIT - 2 -:: Adding the following to my user.cfg seems to have cured it.

r_PostAA = 0

I'm not sure I see the blur in your photo.
However, I do notice a type of ghosting effect where it looks like moving things are phasing from one frame to another, and there's this haze / jittering effect. I should see if this recent patch got rid of that for me, but it was noticeable in the mechlab, moreso when you were stationary and a mech walks past you.

Why don't you normally play across all three screens. I do, and it's one of the reasons I keep coming back to this game. Most modern games don't support 3 monitors half as well as MWO does.

I just tested it at very high and I was only getting 24 FPS. I normally play with med. settings so I never had frame rate issues.

What are your specs?

Your rig is hands down better than mine. The only reason I can see us getting similar fps is that the game isn't optimized for multi-monitor.

The added link in the original post is full size and quality. I think were are talking about the same issue...

I would love a way to disable that silly effect.

Yup, the devs havent really made too much progress in optimizing the game. Dx11 would make for a nice performance jump to my system.

Yeah that's what I see too. I got Motion Blur set to off and also in my user.cfg but it still bugs out. I'm wondering if it's something other than motion blur thats causing the issue, but it's very annoying. Anything that moves loses all detail because of the overlap, and probably getting rid of it would improve performance. *hint hint nudge nudge PGI* :D :P

This is not the motion blur the cvar or the ingame checkbox are for if you are talking about those blurred out mechs. It has to be something about how the game renders the mechs. Lots of people get this (all?). It may very well be that it is very pronounced for you because you play at low-fps.

Heres a screenshot from garth right on this website:

Heres some from me and i have motion blur off (the cvar/checkbox definetly work if you would check it or remove the cvar everything would blur out once you are hit, move fast past objects or twist your torso):

Me and the TDK standing still but he moved his arms a tiny little, notice his energy mounts on both arms = blurry.

Both meds passing behind the atlas.

Would be cool if Matthew took the time and explained why this game is doing it :D

That was just to get the larger picture. I usually game at 1680x1050 resolution on one monitor. I average 50 fps. (Which seems great for this game) Even at 50 fps the phenomena occurs.

From my observation any quick movement or relatively fast movement (ie mechs cutting infront etc) will make the subject ghost/blurrrrrrrrr.

What is your fps? The effect is most noticeable on mech legs. It can easily go unnoticed in combat but if youre looking for its abnoxious. Usually a screen shot will allow you to pick up on it.

Looks like a post processing problem, some texture issues aswell, have u tried turning off sweetfx (scroll lock) and seeing if it solves the problem ?

Keep in mind that you're also asking a hell of alot from one graphics card at that resolution. Im also running a 3 screen setup with 2 670's and they are getting one hell of a workout at max res at the highest settings, your card might not have the necessary juice and could be causing some rendering issues.

Cryengine is know to (sometimes) cause some isssues when it doesn't have ample resources available.

edit: Just read your post that it happens on lower resolutions too, did you always have this problem or is it recently ?

I've noticed something similar as well. There is definitely motion blur when I enable it. But when I disable it, I'm pretty sure there's still some minor motion blurring, though it looks rather odd... As someone said, it looks like the image is phasing slightly from one frame to the next... As if there are 2 of the same image, slightly askew from one another. No matter which drivers or which MWO patch.

Ah ok i misunderstood you than. I play at 50-60 (capped at 60, no vsync) and i see it to.

i5 @ 4.5Ghz, 2x GTX570 ( doesnt matter though performance isnt better with sli atm.)

It doesnt matter how low i turn the gfx, the silly mech-blur is always there.

Your graphical corruption is characteristic of an AMD multi-GPU environment using the Bioshock.exe Catalyst profile override. If you aren't running the Bioshock profile, I suggest you use it. The only thing you have to gain is double or triple the framerate. If you're already using it, and really want to eliminate the artifacting, remove the override.

Yet again, these troubles highlight the terrible job PGI has done on the technical end of things. You HAVE you optimize for SLI and Crossfire setups if you plan on utilizing CryEngine 3. Doing otherwise limits the playerbase dramatically.

I have the exact same issue with a nvidia setup and sli turned off.

r_PostAA = 0 will fix these ghosting issues. It sounds counter-intuitive, but it's a CryEngine artefact. Make sure post-processing is set to low.

At max rez is was getting 35 fps. I just took some screen caps and boy do they look bad.

Firstly I noticed that that fraps made the screen caps look worse then they actually were. Like the "shutter speed" was too slow to capture a moving image. But I did notice a blur as mechs moved closely across the screen.

I have those in my user.cfg and still get it:

r_FSAA = 0
r_UseEdgeAA = 0
r_PostMSAA = 0
r_PostAA = 0

They seem to work because i can turn sweetFX AA on & off through the sweetfx_settings.txt ingame.

I have a question regarding the 3 monitor set up. Does anyone know how to reduce the zoom on the side monitors. I tired to change the FOV, but it doesn't help that much. It's like your car mirror. Objects may appear closer than they actually are.
