do you think there is going to be an open beta. if so when because i so hate that pending sign. when is the game going to release anyway. they say summer but when. if they just started a closed beta then is the release going to later?

The Founder's pack gives guaranteed access to the closed beta on July 17th, so clearly the closed beta will still be on-going at that time. Exactly when it transitions to open beta/public launch hasn't been announced, but it won't be until after July 17th- I would hazard a guess there will be an additional week or two for the founder's pack early access players to romp around until open beta

July sounds reasonable but if the beta is still going on by then then it wont release to the public until late summer or much later. what do you think?

no its to test servers and attract people after that servers are wiped and game starts that means beta otherwise its just early release

For anyone who is impatient to play the game read this-
Don't sweat the small stuff.

This is just his way of saying that waiting for the Open Beta doesn't mean the end of the world as we know it.

with FTP, open beta is a released game that ain't quite done yet and might have a few kinks still in it.

I suspect it will be Late august early sept, technically speaking last day of summer is September 22 for those of us in north america. It means they could launch getting into the 3rd week of sept and still meet their advertised deadline. In theory for the closed beta July 17 access I suspect will be a full month before regular release. Is an extra month access going to be worth it for people, i suspect so. The sad part is on the FTP model they have to have certain ways to make money and they have spent years putting money on the line to bring us this great game, which I am excited they are doing. FTP does not mean free to produce. Doing my part I am going to get the founders elite package as a big thank you to their effort in producing a game I am going to enjoy playing. I most likely won't ever spend any additional money on in game currency but I think they should be rewarded in making a great product and the DEV team has been extremely forthcoming in info about the product.

Closed beta in case of World of tanks was about 2-3 month, then was 3 month of open beta. WoT is f2p too

The thing is there is going to be some other mitigating issues going on chup4c4br4. There are several other "Mech" titles coming out that MWO wants to get out and ahead of first. I am not going in here to name them all but I know of at least 2 other titles that are trying to come out this year as well.
