Wow 11 hours later and nothing to report for us. I threw in the towel 4 2day cause I refuse to strip down my mechs and run lots of LRMS and just lock and shoot lock and shoot, I like to aim my weapons take cover, move up fire take cover but now just getting hit by a few LRMS on the way to the next building, cover point, I'm trashed. Give an update on when this will be fixed cause I'm done playing until then

I think the reason we're seeing people get so upset is because the bandwagoning has gotten so extreme. I just logged in and played 3 games, on average no less than 4-6 mechs launching LRM's if I stepped out of cover. In my last match I was last man standing in Alpine conquest, stepped out and almost every mech in view(6-7) launched LRMs at me.

The "old LRM hvy builds" argument doesn't work when you're seeing 2-3 Jagers running tag/2 xlrm15 in a single match. I had a Stalker 5S built as a 50 tube launcher months ago, but I haven't used it since the missile dmg bug. Because, I happen to agree, if you know that dmg on a specific weapon type is bugged and you are launching with almost nothing but that weapon, you are basically exploiting a known bug. Not sure how you can argue anything else rationally. Flame me if you will, but I stand by this argument.

Sigh, here's an idea: now that's it been proven that mucking-about one way or another with the amount and range of splash damage merely "changes" one problem into another... why not just change the NATURE of splash damage to something like Machine Gun damage-- so that they have NO effect on armor and only damage internals?

I mean, it's SPLASH/splatter damage-- why should it have the same explosive, armor-stripping effect of missile/ballistic explosions?

LRM's are stupid right now. Artemis work in one of the last patches made them too strong, this recent patch made them insane. I can;t grind anything effectively with my premium time because anything less than an ecm mech gets shredded by missiles immediately. There is currently no sense in running anything that has an effective range under 600 because if you try to brawl at all, you get ripped to shreds by missiles.

Right now, it's either run ECM or cower in a corner with cover because you try to do any brawling you have missiles coming at you from 2-3 angles constantly. I just got 1 Volleyed in my ILYA by a Stalker running only LRM's and I had maxed my armor out. It's not even fun anymore.

The problem right now is that you've basically got two options.

1: If you can't fight 'em join 'em. Dust off that LRM boat and go play.
Sadly this seems to be what many players are doing.

2: Carry on as normal, play the mech you want, who cares about LRM's.
You get killed 3 times as fast. The fun is missing.

I was trying to go for number two, but after a couple headshots, some legs flying in the air and the sky growing black from the LRM rain, i'm just gonna chill and watch some tv series for now, check back when fixed.

meh, this still doesnt hold a candle to artemis when it was first introduced. Personally, i dont mind current game play, it will either force bad players to leave or punish them for standing in the open.

Option 3: Pick a mech that is already horribly broken relative to LRMs (say, Commandos) and train how to not die in a missile rain environment. When the LRMs get patched back to normal states, you'll be permanently unkillable by non-glitching missiles.

Thanks for letting everyone know that missiles are overpowered now, every game is now saturated by LRM boats.

the main reason its not worse is you can still use cover effectively. Artemis was silly because it was top down with zero cover.

There, fixed it for you-- I can tell you that some sniper types are having even more fun (dying included), pretending that they are in WW1 trench warfare...

Cos we know that come the hot-fix, it'll be like taking off our training weights and everyone will complaining how snipers are ruining the game! Bwahahahah!
