Double post! :)

And the Imstar Aerospace is on the "wrong" side of the sphere, gents.
We should be talking about things happening on the other side.

There is no news from that side yet. Only strange reports and rumors. NOTHING is happening on the side you speak of. Just another day in the life of the inner sphere. No worries.

A House Marik production of a Star League design, the Cheetah is a light support or reconnaissance ASF. With little armor, the Cheetah is designed to use speed to evade enemy defenses, but is at a serious disadvantage if faced with heavier aerospace fighters. This high thrust rating and speed does come at a significant cost of significantly, however, as high fuel consumption, limits the Cheetah to a short range defensive and skirmish actions.

F-11: This variant uses an XL Engine, and changes the armor to Ferro-Aluminum. The lasers are also changed, this time to pulse models. [Link]

Except for the fact that FRR has lost a dozen planets by this point and the Combine is about a month shy of seeing EDO nuked from orbit by the Jaguar clan following Hohiro escaping off planet.

Point is, the IS knew something was going on and within the Houses, dialog was already ongoing. Although it isn't till the end of August when the heads of Houses meet in Outreach to discuss the clans without ComStar's presence.

You mean governments are trying to keep an issue secret and not let the mainstream media know? FOX news would be appalled..

Excuse me? If something were going on with the Great Houses, the governments don't need to tell us unless it's really important. Stop trying to raise panic over fake rumors our phone company is putting out to try and liven up the everyman's daily life.

First of all, you know up untill Outreach most Houses and ComStar though the clans to be aliens?
They thought because of the weaponary on their mechs clanners have to be able to withstand higher temperatures then human pilots. Humans would have been cocked alive after firing so many weapons at once.
What do you do if you are the government and think aliens invade? Tell the public? I don't think so.
Also the information from the attacked planets was very scarce and neither trusted nor believed.

And even after Outreach it took a long time before any kind of substantional defensive action could be mounted. Most of the inner sphere never saw a clanner for a long time to come. We have plenty of time.

I for myself welcome the soon to be added strafe runs of F-11 Cheetahs on the battlefield.

We are mech pilots. During this time mech pilots were being sent to the periphery. Some had already fought clanners and had begun passing the information within the ranks. Davion had black boxes to bypass ComStar.

No it wasn't 'common' knowledge. But while some of the IS was in the dark, others were not. Spies from various Houses were in fact getting information spread.

I just want CW. PST

I'm stationed in the Mark Capella. I have an excuse for not knowing anything about "Clans" currently. :(

Don't ya remember? ComStar silenced Fox News a few hundred years ago over some political stuff, something about a communications monopoly.

It was never a good idea giving AT&T guns.
