Ok has there been something done to the ECM lately? When ever I am fighting certain players at a certain range my ECM is shutdown/ jammed/disrupted. Can someone help me understand what is wrong and please understand this is when I am fighting these players solo and no one is even with in 500 m of us!

If you are hit by a PPC/ERPPC your ECM will shut down for 4 seconds. Other than that the only way to shut down ECM is using another ECM mech on counter as far as I know. If your ECM is being shut down without either an enemy ECM or being hit by a PPC then it is likely either a bug or a hack.

Being hit by a PPC, which can occur from over 1000m ... does allow enough time for your opponent to get a lock and fire SSRM.

The other thing is range. Your ECM is only effective out to 180m. If your opponent has a sensor range module and/or BAP they will be able to target you in the band from 180m to 270m.

The idea that there is a hack to disable ECM amuses me.

I think someone missed that ECM works in two modes.

No ppc or erppc attacks nor am I forgetting about the dual mode I have a hot key that I have to move my hand for that! Just wanting to see if there might be a range issue that they threw in such as if closer the 30m they can over come ECM or such! Also I have to shutdown my client within two matches after that because the graphics become fuzz/ ghosting!

There's two ways to shut down ECM, and they've been outlined already:
1. Another ECM in counter mode
2. A PPC hit will disable ECM for 4 seconds.

There's also ways of working around ECM for missiles:
1. TAG used outside of 180m will make an ECM-shrouded 'mech targetable
2. A NARC beacon stuck onto your 'mech will make it targetable by missiles for 20s

Of course, if you yourself run your ECM in counter mode, it will not give you the benefits of the disrupt mode, i.e. as soon as you switch to counter mode you lose all the benefits from disrupt mode.

Ok a few did have tag but never seen or have been hit with a narc but I always stay in disrupt unless I know they have their own ECM and I have a lot of others helping me!

The ECM mech is often tagged by people with LRMs.
Given the TAG range of 750 meters, it is possible
an ECM mech shot you from behind with the TAG.
Since it would have been behind you, you would
not have known you were being TAG'd.
