Im greatly concerned about one bit of CW. The hatred the players seem to be devoting towards the ability to pick maps and mechs. Youre telling me youre completely fine random dropping on a planet for the one fight you get before you win or lose that planet?
"Oh I hope we dont get Tourmaline, we arent strong LRMmers"
As the game sits right now I don't like the thought of knowing the map before you pick the mech because of the obvious cheese out factor.
But that is mainly because the maps are pretty terrible and one dimentional. Now i actually like Desert pretty good as its much more balanced. If all the maps were equally balanced I wouldn't care as much. Or if they have say 3 different maps per planet and you know the planet you're dropping on but not exactly where. But I don't see them having that many maps possible when they are only giving us 6 legitimately different maps now.
I could go hardcore and say that a Mechwarrior has -A- mech and he has to fight with that where ever he drops, but everyone knows thats not how online PvP games work and know it would never fly.
So you have a very good point and I'm good with picking mechs after knwoing the map when things are more complete and if the maps are more well balanced.

Also to the people saying 'there's not much to show, it's Beta' yadda yadda, I hope you realize that conventions and such are used to showcase games in 'development'. Like, you know, this one.
You have a point, however this game isn't -just- in development, its playable to all the public. If I were on the marketing team looking at the state of things i wouldn't want to bring too many new people into playing a game this unfinished, because most casual gamers once you scare them off they often don't come back. Too many options available.
