I'd like to point out that a missile boat can do 200 damage on an enemy and not kill him, but get a much better score than the guy who puts a couple well placed shots for 50 damage and kills the enemy.
I think the kill points in general should be weighted on how much damage you put on the kill zone - as in above.
Not to dismiss the value of missile boats, but I think their match scoring is overweighted.

That's a good idea, but I don't think MWO currently tracks what kill zone is. I.e. for XL engine destruction it can be a side torso, you need to account for front and back hits on the torsos, for ammo / gauss rifle explosions, etc.

In your "death" report, it lists what hit you, and how you died/what part/location caused your destruction, etc.
While I'm not sure if it fully stitches together what hit where, they obviously already have an infrastructure in place that can be modified to report it, if it isn't able to do that already.
